My overall stay completely exceeded expectations! The receptionist at 168 Hostel was super friendly. The room came with a universal adapter, so I didn't need to bring my own. Check-in was deposit-free, quick, and hassle-free. The hostel is located right in the city center, right next to a subway exit, making it incredibly convenient for exploring and dining out. The bed was soft and comfortable, and the room had good soundproofing, so I slept very soundly at night. Turning on the air conditioning was enough to get rid of the dampness. Although the private room wasn't huge, all the amenities were complete, and the space was very well-planned. This place offers incredible value for money when visiting Hong Kong. I genuinely recommend it to fellow travelers!

This hostel was a bit different from what I expected. I initially thought it was a dorm-style place, but it's actually more of a guesthouse, though quite a well-managed and sizable one. The hygiene was pretty good; I even saw an auntie scrubbing the trash cans. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful and made me feel quite at home. They also have a travel information wall next to the reception, which is super convenient for unorganized travelers like me. You can't beat this location, and the price was quite cheap, probably because it's the off-season. But I love traveling during the off-season – fewer crowds and cheaper hotels. I'll definitely come back next time!

This was my second time in Hong Kong, and it's still a place where space is at a premium. However, the environment and cleanliness here were even better than some of the guesthouses I've stayed in during previous trips to Japan and Korea! The room, though compact, had everything I needed. There were lots of thoughtful little reminder stickers, like the 'no smoking indoors or the alarm will go off' – very reassuring. The front desk lady was incredibly friendly; while waiting for the elevator, I even saw her kindly upgrading a honeymooning couple's room for free, which was really sweet! It felt very international here, and I met many travelers from different countries who were happy to say hello. The building's location is absolutely top-notch, five stars for that alone! With seven elevators and four stairwells, the flow of people was managed very well, so there were no issues getting up and down. I would definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Hong Kong; it felt great and the price was right!

The room was spotless and had great natural light, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. It's super convenient for dining and shopping, and the staff were really friendly and quick to respond to any issues. It made my trip so much easier and more relaxing.

The hotel's check-in time is 3 PM, which was stated on the platform. We arrived about 40 minutes early and asked if we could leave our luggage there to pick up later. However, the hotel demanded a 50 HKD storage fee. Yet, when others asked the same question on the platform, the hotel's response was that early luggage storage is free! I've been to Hong Kong several times, and this is the first time I've encountered a hotel that charges for luggage storage. I won't even go into the environment. Besides the cleanliness issues, the safety is a major concern (see pic 2). A large section of the ceiling looks like it's about to fall, making us nervous even while sleeping. But that's not even the most outrageous part. Here's the kicker: we were quite tired from the previous day, so we planned to leave a bit later in the morning. The hotel requires check-out by 11 AM, but someone swiped our room door open before 10 AM, waking us up from our sleep. This is truly absurd! If it were check-out time, I wouldn't say anything, but what does it mean to swipe a guest's door open before check-out time? Is there any respect for guest privacy?

Well, Hong Kong rooms are generally the same, but overall it was clean. The only downside is that it's a bit small, but for this price, it's definitely the best value for money.

This was my first time visiting Hong Kong, and as a solo female traveler, I was a bit concerned about safety. However, the front desk uncle who checked me in was incredibly warm and helpful, which immediately put me at ease. There are two security locks here, both requiring a card swipe, so it feels quite safe. The room was very clean, and any requests I had were handled by David, the front desk uncle; he was always ready to help. I recommend choosing room 1410, a queen-sized bed room. It's quite spacious and has a window overlooking Nathan Road. According to the owner, the guesthouse is located in a historic residential building in Tsim Sha Tsui, a spot where you can often see celebrities like Simon Yam and Aaron Kwok filming commercials.
