Lovely looking boutique hotel in the center of Hoorn decorated with an eye for details. This included ear plugs on our bedside table, which you definitely need when staying in a room located at the square the Roode Steen. On Friday evening we could clearly hear the sound of people in and around the hotel and restaurant in our room (second floor, room 10). This was annoying but we managed to fall asleep with it. On Saturday evening all the noise of night live including yelling drunk people and the music from bars could be heard in the room till after 2 AM, making falling asleep earlier impossible. Needless to say that waking up on Sunday because the phone alarm in the room next door went off at 8.30 AM didn’t improve our impression of this hotel. So if you do choose to stay here, make sure not to sleep in room 10 or another room located directly at the Roode Steen. To end on a positive note, the breakfast was great.

On Friday evening we could clearly hear the sound of people in and around the hotel and restaurant in our room (second floor, room 10). This was annoying but we managed to fall asleep with it. On Saturday evening all the noise of night live including yelling drunk people and the music from bars could be heard in the room till after 2 AM, making falling asleep earlier impossible. Needless to say that waking up on Sunday because the phone alarm in the room next door went off at 8.30 AM didn’t improve our impression of this hotel. So if you do choose to stay here, make sure not to sleep in room 10 or another room located directly at the Roode Steen. To end on a positive note, the breakfast was great.
