My hotel room had roaches! I was horrified!! I contacted the front desk, a Hispanic lady told me that “ the weather” was the reason for roaches. This made no sense to me. But that she could send Maintenance to exterminate. When the maintenance guy got there, he said that this is an ongoing problem at the property. I spoke with the general manager today. She really didn’t give a damned pretended she’d never had these complaints. Even after I showed multiple videos of the pest crawling in my room & fridge. Compensation 10,000 points towards my envoy account.

It's in a strategic location just 5 mins walk to the Galleria. Room was fine for a small family but the window are facing corridors and people can peeps into the room or living area if the curtains are not tightly close. Breakfast is simple. Overall.l, i will recommend with the price.

The location is excellent, few minutes away from the upscale mall The Galleria in River Oaks and also near many highways and restaurants. There is also on-site parking for a fee (about 18 bucks a day) However, the facility is dated and the staff isn't too helpful. There were some creepy characters and some halls smelled like ****. I definitely didn't sleep very comfortably. There are much better options nearby for a bit more. This propoerty has a bad vibe.

Staff were generally friendly. Very strict about going to the general pantry/breakfast area to even take a look at whats already displayed if it is not yet breakfast hours. Room was very spacious. Great cost for a hotel near our convention area at the Westin Galleria.

The location of this place is convenient but that’s about the only + it has to offer. The room was full of stains. On the couch, the bed, the floor and the walls. The ceilings were full of mold and mildew and anything made of metal was rusted. It’s very run down and outdated. Also you have to pay to extra to park on site. Why? I would not recommend staying here unless you absolutely have to.

The only thing worse than the cockroach-infested room in which I stayed was the lack of care by management to address egregious onsite situations and cleanliness. I was assaulted (threatened) by a guest having a loud party next to my room for ruining their after hours illegal party. It took management over an hour to come to my room and address this egregious situation. Based on my experience, this hotel is not only dirty but poorly managed with zero care for their guests' comfort. It appears that the unsavory organizational culture at the hotel is not only supported but encouraged by management. If you value your comfort and safety, do not stay here.

On June 28, my keycard stopped working. After reprogramming it, I got in, but the deadbolt (which had been previously taped open) somehow activated while I was inside. I became trapped. I called the front desk repeatedly—no one answered. As a 68-year-old architect, I recognized this as a life-safety emergency. After trying everything I could, I was forced to climb out through the window onto a third-floor walkway. Later that evening, I was promised repairs and returned to find nothing had been done. I had to climb back through the window a second time to retrieve my belongings. I handed my luggage out the window and was moved to another room. This situation was dangerous, traumatic, and completely unacceptable. I sent formal complaints to Marriott and received no impactful response or promise to remedy the situation. The property is in disrepair as evidenced by this very serious safety violation and a gross failure of management. I wonder if Marriott will repair this door before renting it again. As a Rewards member, I’ve stayed at many Marriott properties over the years, but after this, I have serious concerns about guest safety, maintenance standards, and accountability.
Response from Property: Destination444619, thank you for sharing your concerns. The team appreciates you taking the time to share your concerns. I stayed here for two nights. I will say the bed was comfortable and the suite was generally clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful. This property has seen better days. The bathroom door wasn’t hung correctly so it dragged on the floor. The drain cap in the tub wasn’t actually attached and so wouldn’t stay open on its own, so I had to take it out completely. Sometimes the key cards worked, and sometimes it took a ridiculous amount of tries to get the locks to recognize the key cards. There’s a fair amount of peeling paint. My toilet stopped working and it took two different visits for maintenance to fix it. Although they were responsive. This is an old motel-style property with several buildings arranged around a courtyard. The outer buildings have doors on the outside of the building, so that the only windows in the rooms look out onto the walkway that everyone else has to walk past. So if you like to keep drapes open everyone can look into your room. If you’re going to stay here you might want to consider asking for a room in an inner building, because the doors to those rooms are accessed from inside the building. There is no lifeguard at the pool and the pool is in the direct sun with no shade. But it did look clean.
Response from Property: 350madelync, thank you for sharing your thoughts about your recent visit. It’s good to know you found the bed comfortable, your suite tidy, and the team members attentive and warm. The feedback about certain room features and property layout is appreciated, as this helps provide helpful details for those planning to visit. Thank you for offering practical suggestions for future guests and noting areas that stood out during your stay.

STAY AWAY – NOT WORTH THE RISK Residence Inn by Marriott Houston by The Galleria. They gave my room to someone else while my belongings were inside. I came back ~9 PM to a dead key, was treated like I was lying, and made to wait while others were checked in. The situation caused an acute medical episode; I asked for immediate access to my prescribed medication and was still refused until I showed my name on the pill bottle. I packed and left immediately. No apology. Charged $328.14. Titanium Elite (Gold Lifetime). This was a total failure of basic care and safety.
