I didn't have high expectations for accommodations in Tangkou Town, but this guesthouse pleasantly surprised me, earning a full five-star rating from me.
The surroundings are excellent; it's located in a nearby guesthouse village, away from the crowded town center. The building itself is very new and kept immaculately clean, with no strange odors or greasiness. The owner and her family are incredibly warm and welcoming, and their cooking is delicious. You can really feel the harmonious atmosphere of their family.
What truly impressed me was how the owner thoughtfully saved the leftover chicken soup we didn't finish the night before and turned it into chicken noodle soup for breakfast the next morning, complete with a poached egg and vegetables – it was incredibly comforting, especially in winter. When we checked out, they even gave us a souvenir and hiking poles.
I heard you can go swimming here in the summer, which makes me look forward to my next visit... It's a shame I didn't take any videos or photos this time, but there's always next time.
