Stayed at Hampton Inn Hershey at 195 Hershey Rd., Hummelstown for a day. The hotel was good but stayed very cold from the air conditioning. Got sick from it. However, I enjoyed my stay and had a lot of great conversation with the front desk lady and the general manger when I checked in Monday, June 26, 2023. Two lovely people!!!! However, the most embarrassing issue I encountered was on the morning of my check out day, Tiesday, June 27, I was sitting having an online meeting with very important people virtually in the lounge between 11:00 am and 12pm. One of the breakfast clean up Crew members ( an African American gentleman) who can clearly see I was in a virtual meeting with about 6 people. He decided to reach behind me to clean the window where everyone on my cam can see his arm wiping the window. He realize the window smudges were from the outside and decides to go outside behind me in view of my meeting to wipe the window and in addition starts to dance and lick out his tongue. He then proceeds to come back inside and reach behind me again to wipe the window. At this point I had to pause my meeting and put him in his place to let him know I was a guess and how unprofessional it was for him to do these inappropriate acts while I am in a meeting. No one was amused by his actions. He apologize and proceeds to say “ I can’t afford to loose this job I just started” well this is something he should have thought about before he embarrassed me and himself. This employee didn’t know if I was having a job interview and could have cost me a job or if I was from the corporal office dressed in disguised to check on the professionalism of the workers to pull this unprofessional stunt. There was no manager around at the time of the incident so I had to check out. I returned home and made phone calls and was provided with the general manager (who I had been interacting with prior) number from the front desk staff and left a message for a returned call. I cannot get this stunt out of my head I am so angry. I don’t want to get anyone fired but this stunt was uncalled for and will suggest training to his staff. Mainly the one breakfast crew member.

The room is very new and very nice

Never stayed at a Tru before and decided to try one. I really like it. I like the layout , the beds, and the bathroom. I especially liked the soap, lotion, and hair products within a dispenser. The soaps were a lovely lemon scent. The breakfast was really good. The coffee was good as well. The staff was so friendly and everyone had a smile! Excellent experience!! Great team.

The hotel itself is a bit older, but everything seemed in good condition. The lobby is updated (a fireplace in the corner) and nice. The breakfast area is quite large (which they probably need when HersheyPark is operating, but not so much in late Jan when we were there). The staff was very nice & accommodating. The only complaint I have is that they never seemed to be at the front desk. I had to ring the bell every time I needed something. They were all very nice, though, & helped me out with a few special requests, which made up for it. The fitness room was great. There were 3 treadmills as well as other machines. There were some dumbbells as well. Here's the best part of the review... In the room, they had the best hotel invention in years. The clock radio showed the time on THREE sides (the front & each side) so that no matter which bed you were in, you can see the time. That’s fantastic! I've never seen such a thing, but it surely should become standard for all hotels! No more is there an issue where neither person in bed can see the clock well or you have to lean to see it. There were ample outlets & USB ports between the beds, too, which is always a plus. The room layout is a bit odd; the bathroom door is diagonal, facing the bed area, so if someone leaves the light on as they open the door late at night, it illuminates the entire room. The bathroom fixtures were updated & nice, though. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again & recommend it.

I'm starting with the positive aspects of this hotel. It was very clean and quiet, and the staff was polite and attentive. The location was excellent--just a short ride to Hershey Park and local restaurants. However, the rooms are ordinary with the smallest flat screen tv that I've seen in a hotel in recent months. The housekeeping is every other day, and when housekeeping came she gave us new towels, made the bed, but she did not clean the mirror or bathroom vanity. We did not receive another bar of soap or extra cups or a roll of toilet paper even though one reel was empty. The thermostat was hard to adjust in the room. In addition, the toilet kept on running and had to be adjusted frequently. The free breakfast was ok, but it lacked bread choices. The English muffin with ham and egg was hard and unappetizing after being overcooked in a hot dish. In all, the hotel was OK, but the rates were pricey for ordinary accommodations.

We travel frequently and can say without a doubt that this was the worse experience ever of a hotel . We went to checkin and was given a basement room (who knew those existed ) that reeked of mold . The sheets were damp , the air was moist and the entire room was completely underground . The “fire exit” was a metal corrugated tube with an unstable ladder that you would have to climb up the tube to get out of !!! We tried to remedy this situation but the person in reception refused to find us another room , instead telling us we should have told him we were allergic to mold when we booked the hotel ! As if it would have been fine otherwise ! Although there were other rooms that people had not checked into yet, the person refused to switch rooms. Upon my insistence , he called his manager who he claims also refused to change the room . We asked to speak to the manager and was denied . We were told they would refund the room rate but would not be given a different room . We asked for proof of the refund that they said they would process and was told they couldn’t give us printed proof . Since we were now 3 hours from home without a place to stay with a young child , we called Choice Hotels customer service . They were actually really helpful - however , when they reached out to the Comfort Inn, they claimed we hadn’t been there ! Luckily we had the confirmation number that proved otherwise . Choice hotels found us another room at their expense in a hotel 10 min away and told us that if we weren’t refunded, we should dispute with our credit card company . This morning , we get an email saying the room was charged to my credit card ! Which it had been when we prepaid but possibly charged again instead of refunded . Called my credit card company who was super helpful and disputed the charge . In short … moldy basement room , awful customer service and lied in their communications . Do not stay here !!
