Nanxun Towns Anyu Nanshe Homestay

We stayed three nights in this lovely inn in Nanxun Ancient Town. The family room was huge and spotlessly clean and just like the photos, the proprietor and everybody else who worked there was incredible helpful and attentive (and very patient with us bumbling Westerners), the Chinese breakfast was delicious, everything about the stay was great. The inn itself is literally a 3-minute walk from the Nanxun canal, shops and restaurants and an easy walk to the major sightseeing spots such as the Liu family compound, Zhang Shiming residence etc. We foolishly turned up in early spring without umbrellas and the proprietor took care of us, one of the many touches of the hospitality we received. So much better than staying at an generic hotel. Highly recommend both the inn and the destination (before lotus season it was quite uncrowded for a China tourist destination). It seems many tourists tend to do Nanxun as a daytrip but after a busy F1 race week in Shanghai, a few days ambling by the water and old history were the perfect downtime. Like everywhere else we have been in China, it was safe, full of beautiful history, modern conveniences and kind people. Lovely homestay with a very friendly host. In the middle of the water town so everywhere is easy to get to.
