Hotel Astoria City Center

We booked 2 AC Rooms back in March for 2 days. When we arrived, the staff looked surprised we are there until we showed the reservation and the receipt. They gave us 2 rooms then but they were both old and with problems. I believe they have a few renovated rooms that are shown in the pictures online but most of the rooms are old, smelly and moldy. The AC in our room did not work and they could not give us another room until the next day because they said they are full. Temp inside was 30C that night and we were traveling with a 88 year old mom. We did not even have glasses in that room. They switched us in a new room next day and we found ourselves in a different, much cleaner and better environment. The staff were nice and willing to help but the place is really not good. The only thing it has going for it is the location in the middle of the city. Will I book Astoria again? No, never. Sorry

Arrived at night on the 26th of December ,the hotel has a problem with ice at the entrance ,the hotel is poor lit and very dated and ugly smelling. I booked a deluxe double bedroom ,and the room was like a high-school dorm room ,nothing to do with the photos from the hotel websites. The rooms were very bad smelling ,the ones with 2 beds didn't have nightstands and I decided not to stay.Honestly it should be closed and renovated or sold to someone who has minimum implication into this hotel .Would never return ,I canceled my stay after I opened 5 rooms to try to figure out witch room is the real one I booked ,turned out it doesn't exist. Avery run down dusty bad lit and bad smelling hotel I would never recommend to someone.

Everything was good. We were especially glad for the hotel location - close to everything.

By car to find the hotel is a problem. Google sends you in a different place. Parking is on an alley with a sign that is only for locals. That’s why I gave it 4 stars. In rest is ok. Clean, front desk and breakfast staff are friendly.

Clean and staff is great, excellent location but needs some improvement.

I thought 3☆ are going to be decent but the hotel is in a terrible condition, the wallpaper is peeling off, taps are rusty, very old dirtish furniture, odd smell, the carpet looked also dirty, you feel your skin itchy once you step in the room. The staff was nice though, and the bedsheets clean. Such a same, this hotel has great location.

First of all its pretty run down , small top to cover when you go to sleep- smaller then the actually bed. No hot water when you try to shower even was on the second floor. The faucet and other bathroom fixtures are rusty. Mold in the shower as well. Carpet dirty. Woke up with a banging and drilling, the website or at check in were not informing of any renovation. The lobby looks very shady no lighting and loud music.

The administrator did not confirm my booking in the evening, saying they could not see it and that the room was not available, even though all the information had been provided. They offered me a different room instead. At 10 PM on December 31st, with a child, I naturally agreed to pay again and wrote about the issue to Agoda. The room was horrible, dirty, with holes in the bathroom walls and mold. In the morning, another administrator found my booking and refunded the payment for the additional room, claiming that I had stayed in the same room I initially booked. However, the description and photos of the rooms differ significantly. Agoda did not support my complaint. This is terrible treatment of customers, both by the hotel and Agoda, as my rights are not being protected.

Teribil terrible hotel. I choose this hotel as it was the only one available in the city center and for the location but this hotel show not be open for the public as it is a liability. Extremely dirty with bugs coming from the carpet, stained carpets (please see pictures) old stinky dirty towels, bad breakfast, dirty black walls, only half of curtain, no toiletries, extremely disappointing experience
