We were initially on holiday in Mallorca and having been to Ibiza over 30 times, we thought it would be silly not to fly over for a couple of nights. Luckily, we found availability at Ca Na Xica and we booked through Mr and Mrs Smith. When we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely host who made us feel at home straight away. She informed us that we had been given a complimentary room upgrade which was exciting. We were shown around the property (which we had been to before having eaten at Salvia many times) and then we settled by the pool until our room was ready. The manager (I think) was lovely too, and full of welcoming energy. The service around the pool is pretty lacklustre. I felt a little like I was bothering the staff and that they would rather you went up to the pool bar, instead of catching them as they practically run past you. If you order food to your sun bed it takes the staff ages to clear away the plates, we ended up actually stopping one of them and handing it over. The pool area felt dirty. There were a few cigarette butts by the end of my sun bed - which I wish I had taken a photo of to show! - and the actual pool felt like it needed either a clean, pressure wash or refurb or all of the above! There is a water feature at the end of the pool which wasn't turned on whilst we were there which seemed like a shame. The sun beds are comfortable though and there were plenty of towels to go around. It felt quite private because the sun beds and cabanas are spaced out well. We were shown to our room in the afternoon, which was pleasant and practical. I wasn't blown away by the terrace which apparently is the 'best part of the room', I think the best part is that the shower looks out onto a small private walled garden so it feels like you're showering outside which is a lovely touch. The shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were gorgeous - I would actually buy these for home. The rest of the room just felt a little clinical. We booked Ca Na Xica because we wanted to use the spa on our last day, but unfortunately both the steam room and sauna were out of order. We only discovered this as we went into the spa ourselves. This was a real shame. Salvia, the restaurant, is great and breakfast was incredible. I probably wouldn't book to stay here again, Safragell, close by, is a better option.
