"The Dunhuang Hotel lives up to its reputation! It's located right next to the Shazhou Night Market and offers a wealth of dining options. The hotel's facilities are first-class, elegant, and beautifully appointed. I originally booked a king-size bed room without a window, but the hotel proactively upgraded me to one with a window, which was very thoughtful. The room was comfortable and cozy, and the front desk and housekeeping were attentive and helpful. I stayed four nights, and while the room was quite expensive, it was a great value!
The only downside was the breakfast. While the breakfast setting was pleasant, the service was friendly, and the food looked plentiful, it was almost identical every day and not particularly tasty. The hot dishes tasted like leftovers. The cantaloupe wasn't sweet at all, and there were several canned fruits on display. It's harvest season, so why not have more fresh fruit?"

"They offer a pick-up service, which is a plus. The location is decent; there's a bus stop for Mingsha Mountain right near the hotel. However, it seems newly renovated and there's a bit of an odor. The room layout is impractical; the sink is right by the door, and the bathroom is tiny. Our room directly faced another room across the hall. It feels like Yuntian (the hotel next door?) is affiliated with this one, and the front desk outside seemed more organized than the one inside. The hotel breakfast is just average. I have to specifically mention this: we stayed for three nights, and on the third day, we had to catch an early train, so we got a packed breakfast. Not only was there very little food, but for two breakfasts, they only gave us one bag of milk that was very close to its expiration date – only two days left, so we didn't dare drink it and threw it away. The two vacuum-sealed bread slices didn't even have a date on them. Staying at this kind of hotel feels like winning the bad lottery. Out of all the places we stayed on this Northwest trip, besides the one in Chaka Town, this was by far the worst."

"The hotel is well located in city center and provides complimentary pick up/drop off service from train station. There is a direct bus which goes to mogao caves right in front the hotel- making self transport a breeze. Room is spacious and nicely designed with a large bath tub.
Apart from the hotel hardware, what really stood out was the extra mile services offered by the staff. There are 2 staff who really shine.
Firstly, Ms tong tong （彤彤）was very patient in explaining all the touristy sites around and how to get there. She helped us book performance tickets so we could enjoy some discounts. When we enquired about transfer to liu yuan, she not only checked for all the information online for us but also personally went to the bus station to find a driver who goes to liuyuan. We're so impressed with her extra mile service!! Really kudos to her great personality and service.
Next staff to mention is Mr li (李师傅）who picked us up at the train station. He suggested some dining places to us and offered to drop us off at mogao caves when we bumped into him at the hotel lobby.
Overall, highly recommend to stay at this hotel."

The room is very clean and comes with disposable towels, which is very good. It is very close to Shazhou Night Market, and it only costs a few dollars to take a taxi. There are many stamps in the lobby, which is suitable for families with children who want to collect stamps. The breakfast is a buffet, and the Lanzhou ramen 🍜 is delicious. I will choose this place next time I come to Dunhuang."

GGuest UserWhile there are limited parking spots directly in front of the hotel, there's a spacious parking lot around the back, complete with EV charging stations! We had booked a king room but were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to a family room. The room also came equipped with a humidifier, which was a nice touch. We had a pretty good stay overall! On the 6th floor, there's a laundry room with nine washing machines, though no tumble dryers. However, they provide a drying area. I'd heard clothes could dry in just over an hour; being from the humid south, I was naturally skeptical. But I gave it a try, and to my surprise, it actually worked! This place is truly incredibly dry!

BBaiheThis is a fantastic new hotel. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the front desk is incredibly welcoming. They gave our children two local camels and sand masks as a free gift, which they loved. They even upgraded us to a family room free of charge. The room was spacious and beautiful. This hotel is a great choice for a trip to Dunhuang. The beautiful front desk lady, Lv Jingjing, was especially helpful in directing us all the way to the garage. She also bought me tickets for the ”Encounter Dunhuang” (Dunhuang Encounter) tour.

The service staff are very enthusiastic and willing to provide all kinds of help. Sister Ren at the front desk is very considerate and serves with a smile throughout the whole process. The hotel's breakfast is also good, and the beef noodles are delicious. It's a good hotel!

Riding a camel through the sand dunes and watching the sunrise and sunset are extremely beautiful; sand sliding and desert motorcycles bring full of dynamism and vitality. The hotel service is even more remarkable. From the moment of booking, there is a dedicated person to contact you. During the tour, you can take photos and give instructions. The details are very attentive. The experience is great and must be praised!

HHeong Siew YinLocation is very ideal, along a pleasant Main Street, around 5 to 8 mins walk to night market, yet away from the rowdiness of tourists. Just opposite there are convenience shops, a western bakery (Angelia) and stretch of small restaurants in an alley which are of good quality.
Front desk services are fantastic especially helpful for foreigners ( though they don’t speak English- try to use e-translator), regarding local attractions and getting a cab for you if encounter difficulties. They are genuinely helpful to try to overcome your difficulties. Special mention on Ya Jin who even asked her regular taxi driver to accompany us to buy the Mogao Grottoes tickets and arranged for a long distance taxi trip to Liuyuan South Railway station. Wang Na also offered her WeChat contact number if we have difficulties coming back at night. Really warm hospitality.
Even the hotel driver who fetched us from the airport was nice(complimentary service). The housekeepers are too hardworking.
Only complain I have is the breakfast which served exactly the same thing every morning and of limited choices. Thus Angelia bakery just opposite was really a good alternative.

TTravellerBobStayed for two nights. The value for money was good. The hotel itself is not very clean and a little outdated, but the linen was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The window of the room did not close properly, and the nights were very cold, with 16°C inside the room. Because the windows did not close, a lot of outside noise was heard at all hours (there was an outdoor street piano that people played at all hours of the night). The room was also very small, with no space for placing luggage or anything. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
