"I found a hidden gem of a hotel in Nanjing! I was a bit worried since it's an older property, thinking the facilities might not be up to par, but I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. As soon as you step into the lobby, you're greeted by a pleasant fragrance, giving it a very French hotel vibe. The lobby entrance is quite spacious, with many pictures showcasing Nanjing's unique characteristics on the walls. The lobby design is also quite appealing, with a beautiful blue decoration behind the reception desk. It truly reflects the charm of an established hotel. The front desk staff were incredibly warm and patient, thoroughly explaining the hotel's offerings and room services – excellent service! We were assigned a high-floor room this time, with an amazing view overlooking the river in the distance. My friend was extremely satisfied; the room was spacious, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a fantastic view. Now, let's talk about breakfast – it was quite lavish, offering both Chinese and Western options. There was a wide selection, including Nanjing's famous duck blood and vermicelli soup, which had a rich, delicious broth. The freshly wrapped mini wontons with chili oil were a thumbs-up! The variety of dishes was impressive. After staying one night, I can confidently say it offers great value for money. Plus, the hotel is right next to a subway station, making eco-friendly travel super convenient."

"Cleanliness: Clean Environment: Good Service: Good Stayed for two nights in Nanjing with my elderly mother for a weekend getaway. The location is very convenient. It's just a short walk to Fuzimiao (Confucius Temple) and also very close to the West Gate entrance of the Egret Island Park Lantern Festival. Before our arrival, they called to inquire about our estimated check-in time and informed us about the limited parking availability. Breakfast had everything one could ask for. My personal favorites, freshly made noodles and coffee, were available, and there were several kinds of fruit. The freshly prepared duck blood vermicelli soup was quite tasty. We received a complimentary upgrade to a family room, and it was lovely to have the morning sun shining in. The room was cleaned promptly, and they refilled our bottled water several times. Thumbs up! 👍"

Part of the massive Zifeng Tower, the seventh tallest building in the world, the InterContinental Nanjing (Nanjing Ludi Zhoujijiudian) is located just around the corner from the Metro Line 1 Gu Lou Station and is not far from the Nanjing Drum Tower. This Nanjing hotel also offers guests easy access to an airport and railway station. Luxury rooms in the hotel look out over Nanjing from 49 to 71 floors up and offer flatscreen satellite TVs and Wi-Fi. Presidential Suites occupy the 80th to 81st floors.Guests can dine at the 76th floor Summit Chinese Restaurant, the 78th floor Prime Restaurant, Bar & Lounge with its floor to ceiling glass wine cases, or drop into one of the hotel's other restaurants or cafés on the 45th or 47th floors. Views from the top two are some of the best in the city, while the views from the 82nd floor Greenland Club are more exclusive. The hotel's business center, staffed from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m., offers a number of services including mobile phone rental and secretarial services. The InterContinental also offers foreign currency exchange for those travelers coming from outside of China.A fitness center is available for guests looking to stay in shape, while those who want to do so while cooling off can take a swim in the indoor or outdoor pool.

"Our stay in the lake-view suite completely exceeded all expectations. The floor-to-ceiling windows were like a giant cinema screen, framing the shimmering waters of Xuanwu Lake and the lush green layers of Purple Mountain into a dynamic, living painting. Waking up to the morning mist over Swan Island and watching the city wall lights reflect in the lake at dusk – every moment was breathtaking. The suite's design perfectly blended Jinling's charm with modern luxury: sleek new Chinese furniture, subtly integrated smart control systems, and a layout with a separate living room and bedroom that felt both open and private. My favorite feature was the circular bathtub by the window, offering panoramic lake views while soaking. Even the welcome fruit platter included a Yuhua tea-themed dessert, showcasing exquisite Jiangnan elegance in every detail. The hotel service was exemplary: the butler proactively confirmed our preferred routes, and during turn-down service, thoughtfully prepared the window-side daybed for enjoying the view. The 27th-floor executive lounge offered stunning vistas, and during Happy Hour, sipping champagne while gazing down at the ancient city created a particularly moving sense of past and present intertwining. The location was impeccable: within walking distance to Xuanwu Gate subway station, making it convenient to reach Fuzimiao or Xinjiekou. Morning jogs along the Ming City Wall and evening strolls on the lakeside boardwalk – staying here truly allowed us to experience the essence of 'Pearl of Jinling'. Special thanks to our butler Luanne for upgrading our room and arranging a late check-out, ensuring a perfect end to our trip. This wasn't just accommodation; it was a cherished Nanjing memory. Highly recommended for travelers seeking both scenic beauty and quality – you'll fall in love with waking up in such a picturesque setting."

chengxian hotel

"As a 'highly sensitive sleeper,' I didn't have high expectations for accommodation on this trip, but this hotel completely blew them out of the water! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was hooked – warm lighting paired with wooden textures, a faint scent of wood in the air, and the welcome tea offered by the front desk attendant was just the right temperature. Check-in took only 3 minutes, and she thoughtfully provided local sightseeing routes and restaurant opening hours. The room was even more spacious than pictured. The bedding was super soft cotton, the mattress was perfectly firm yet yielding, and with the adjustable pillows, I fell asleep instantly and slept soundly, not even hearing my alarm clock! The bathroom's wet and dry separation was excellent, branded toiletries had a luxurious scent, hot water supply was stable and consistent, and the hairdryer was powerful enough that I didn't have to wait around. The biggest surprise was the soundproofing; it completely blocked out external noise, making the room so quiet I could only hear my own breathing. My three-day stay was consistently impressive: the room cleaning was so thorough that even under the bed there was no dust. Whether for business travel or a family vacation, this hotel is a no-brainer! The value for money is exceptional; for a mid-range price, I experienced service and facilities comparable to a five-star hotel. I've already recommended it to all my friends planning to visit the area, and I'll definitely stay here again next time!"

LlwkengWe booked the family room with 2 king bed room for our whole trip in Nanjing and the hotel truly is not disappointing. The hotel is very clean and close to the Laomendong attractions. All are within walking distance. Nearby attractions are also a lot and easily reachable in short distant. Food and restaurant is not a problem. The room has all the amenities and most importantly free laundry service is available which is important for my family travel for longer days as we do not need to bring a lot of clothes. The owner is friendly and provided suggestions to our places to visit as well. Breakfast is inclusive. Even though simple, good enough to start for the day without needing to look for food before going out. Overall a good and pleasant experience with our stay.

GGuest UserHad a great stay! The hotel is right in the city center, within walking distance to multiple shopping areas like Xinjiekou and Deji Plaza. Hongmiao Food Street is also just around the corner. The room design is modern, and the fully smart facilities really add to the convenience. Plus, everything was spotless. The front desk staff were very friendly. What really stands out, especially for such a prime location, is the free parking – a huge relief for guests driving. Since it only opened half a year ago, all the facilities are still brand new.

GGuest UserI booked Hanyuan because it is within walking distance to my folks home. And my grandma used to work at Nanjing Agricultural University, which the hotel is affiliated with. I read others’ reviews and knew it is an old facility. I did not have unrealistic expectations. We arrived late at night. Taxi driver dropped us off at the side entrance that has numerous stairs to the door. We had lots of luggage. As we got out of the cab, we saw some staff member in the lobby looking out. Instead of coming out to help us, he walked away. My husband, myself and our seven year old all carried/dragged multiple items up the stairs to get into the hotel lobby. We checked in and decided that we would need to add a bed for the kid. House keeping came quickly to set up the bed but was reluctant to provide pillows for the additional bed. I had to repeatedly ask before they agreed to bring an extra pillow. Don’t understand why there is such resistance to equip the additional bed with pillow- after all, we did pay for the additional bed. Everything else was pretty good during our first three-day-stay. We then went away to visit families elsewhere for a week before coming back to this hotel. This time, our car drove onto the ramp at the front entrance. As soon as we entered the building, lobby manager came to offer us help. He helped us deliver luggage to our room. We are very appreciative of his assistance. We ran into some issues at the front desk this time. They asked for our passports again and took our pictures for a second time. When I mentioned that we were just here a week ago and all information was taken already, we were told that all information has been erased as we checked out. When we checked in/out the first time, we informed front desk that we were making the hotel our base camp and will be coming in and out a few times. It’s strange that they would delete our information and redo everything all over again. Again we need to add a bed. House keeping brought a roller bed which has a stained mattress pad. I asked them to bring a clean one, they said they could not. They said they didn’t have any clean pads. They said the only option is to remove the pad and put the sheets directly on the mattress. They further suggested that since the sheet is clean, dirty pad doesn’t matter and that every mattress pad under bed sheets has urine stains. His words made my stomach turn but I was too tired to fight so they went ahead put sheets on top of the mattress pad that has a big yellow stain. Again I asked for pillows for the additional bed, they refused at first, upon my insistence, they agreed to bring pillows. They also took out a blanket from the cabinets under television and put it on the bed. When the seven year old was ready for bed, I opened the blanket and realized it’s cover is dirty. It’s dusty and has multiple stings of hair on it. I called house keeping, a lady quickly bought over a clean duvet cover for the blanket but refused to take away the dirty one. She insisted that we keep the dirty duvet in the closet. I did not understand her rationale but there isn’t anything I can do. So that dirty duvet cover stayed in the closet. Maybe I should not have come back to this hotel.

XXavierasyI booked a suite for 2 nights at the Courtyard by Marriott the night before I came from Xi'an because I wanted to visit Niushoushan, Jinling Xiaocheng, and other tourist spots nearby. The location of the Courtyard is actually not bad; it's right beside the Hedingqiao metro station, and many food booths and convenience stores are just downstairs. You can buy takeaway at any time. The reception staff is nice and helpful and can speak very good English, no doubt. The worst was the concierge. One of the concierge staff has been playing on his cellphone every single moment. I took Didi or the metro at least 4 or 5 times every day. Every time I pass through the entrance, he is playing on his phone. The most frustrating part was when I ordered takeaway through the app. The delivery man said he placed it on the concierge cart right next to that guy, but someone took my package, and he didn't notice. YEAH, How could he possibly know if he was preoccupied with his phone ?!

CChifanpeiyinliaoThis hotel is definitely a great place to walk your kids! The ecology is very good! We even saw a hare! But maybe it’s because it’s outdoors! It seems like the door to the candy room is a little broken! Not so easy to close! Then the electric cars in the park require money to use but they are too slow! And the cost is a bit high! The service attitude at the front desk is very good! Very eager to help! The road to the swimming pool is not easy to walk! Must be very careful! It's easy to fall! The locker room environment needs cleaning! The interior of the room is clean and acceptable!

MM542914****An excellent experience! The hotel is incredibly grand, almost like a shopping mall when you first enter. The front desk staff was wonderful, and even helped upgrade my room. Extending my stay directly with the hotel was cheaper than booking through a platform, which was a great deal. Plus, after I extended my stay, the staff came to clean the room, which made me feel very secure. They even knock before entering, which is a nice touch. The room itself was large, very clean, and felt quite luxurious. All the facilities made for a very comfortable stay. There's a big desk that's perfect for a laptop and working, and it has a window. The soundproofing is fantastic; you can open it for fresh air and then close it for complete quiet. It's ideal for studying!

AAnonymous UserThis stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is superb, just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, and surrounded by shopping malls and unique restaurants, making it super convenient for getting around and finding food. The room was impeccably clean, the bedding was soft and comfortable against the skin, and with the excellent blackout curtains, I slept soundly all night long. The soundproofing was also great; I couldn't hear any outside noise at all. The biggest surprise was the service; the front desk lady was quick and enthusiastic during check-in, and even proactively shared some local, lesser-known travel tips.

CCW from MalaysiaLocation The hotel is near Dongliu Station, but you need to walk about 3 blocks (15 minutes). The walk is flat, but in July and August it can get very hot, so bring an umbrella. The area is quiet and feels isolated. Although the hotel is not far from Nanjing University Xianlin Campus, there is no direct train, you need to change lines and make an awkward turn. Shared bikes (Hello blue bikes) are convenient in Xianlin, but not around this hotel. A good option is to take the B3 shuttle bus from Sanyang Road, which goes to Nanjing University train station (walking distance to NJU). Around the hotel, you will find small eateries (like chicken and duck rice shops) and a few convenience stores, but no malls. Cleanliness The rooms are clean, but there is a smoke smell that stays for about a day. The staff suggested opening the window and using the aircon, but I also bought a reed diffuser from Miniso to make it smell fresher. Bedsheets were changed regularly (every 5 days). The toilet slippers looked dirty, so I did not use them. Also, the hotel does not provide floor towels. Staff & Service The staff were very kind and helpful. They upgraded me to a bigger double room with a sofa and work area, and also gave me a cheaper rate since I stayed for 40 nights. Cleaning staff came daily, bringing bottled water and keeping the toilet clean. The night-shift counter staff were also helpful. Facilities There is a washing machine that can wash and dry in one cycle. Do not overload it, or clothes won’t dry properly. Since the hotel is not very busy, I could use the machine anytime without queuing. Rooms have a hair dryer and a lighted mirror. The aircon makes a small dripping sound, but it is not a real problem. Noise The soundproofing is generally okay, but occasionally you can hear people talking loudly if there are guests next door. It’s not the hotel’s fault—just that people in China often speak very loudly, even inside their rooms or in the corridor. Nothing much you can do about it. Surroundings & Safety The area is safe, with big roads and many residential apartments. In the evenings, families with kids and dogs walk around, and I also jogged nearby. Food delivery is easy drivers can bring food to your room or the counter. Overall It is a quiet and safe place to stay, with helpful staff and decent facilities. The location is not very convenient for NJU Xianlin Campus, but manageable if you use the shuttle bus.
