Wow what can I say? Gorgeous place - clean, quirky rooms - awesome staff and food to die for. We stayed for one night last Friday with my sister and her husband and we loved everything. The duvets and pillows were amazing. Great atmosphere and music too. We will deffo be back soon.

Really lovely little hotel, a few ******* but nothing to deter me from staying again. Check in was smooth and simple and i was shown to my room I didn't eat at the malthouse as was meeting a friend but the menu looked lovely, Room are decorated well with full of character. I arrived back after midnight and wasn't sure how to get back in but one of the night staff came out and showed me how to get back in. Comfy bed and was lovely and warm. Couple of downsides are, one of my drinking glasses was dirty from a previous guest, the rainfall shower head was broken but did inform the team on check out. Walls did seem a little thin as when totally silent i could hear the neighboring room's alarm clock going off. Would happily stay again.

Found this lovely place whilst walking around Ironbridge. It's opposite the river and catches the sun when it shines with a good amount of outside seating. The barman as pleasant and very helpful, the food was good value and tasty. There's a good choice of ales including 4 draught Hobgoblin ales. A must stop on a sunny day if only for a drink. We will return as we're planning a weekend away.

Visited with friends for a Thursday lunch. Restaurant has good and poor points. We were seated quickly, given menus and drinks orders taken and delivered quickly . Menu is enormous, excellent range and very good vegetarian choices. However, we waited 50 minutes for food to arrive. We all enjoyed our food, well presented and of a good size . Appropriate checkback and another drinks order taken. Not such good points. Restaurant was quite cold. Our waitress, who was really good, was on her own right through service and the restaurant was busy the whole time we were there. Dogs are allowed , this does seem to be the norm ,however it seemed they were allowed throughout the restaurant rather than confined to just one part . Another issue was that the server was petting the dogs and then carried on serving - unhygienic and inappropriate. There was also a running screaming toddler there throughout most of our time there. A few ******* detracted from the pleasant service and good food

Recently refurbished in a quirky style. Staff friendly but could have done with a few more on at times. Breakfast superb, well done chef. Liked complimentary toiletries. Liked live music. Personal preference: double bed seemed very small and would have preferred to get out of bed onto a carpeted floor as opposed to floor boards. Essential for us would have been separate surface for tea making facilities as opposed to the small dressing table(we used the dressing table for purpose so the kettle ended up on the floor and the tea tray on the window sill!), shelf in bathroom for our toiletries and maybe a cup for toothbrushes, hooks on the back of the bathroom door for robes and an ironing board cover for the ironing board so we could actually use it. But felt very good value for the price we paid. Thank you.

We booked a table for a family of 8 including 2 young children! We waited forever to be offered drinks/ menus despite it being almost empty! Then had to ask if we could order as they didn’t come back! Staff were unfriendly and unhelpful service was very poor and staff were unfriendly! Sat there for 3 hrs just to eat 2 courses and we’d had to prompt them at every point! However, food was good.

We were on a Red Letter two day break in a superior room with one dinner included. We were shown to the’Front room’ after being informed by the staff member that all the rooms at The Malthouse are considered superior. The room was quite small and the bed was only just big enough to be classed as a double size. The bathroom we discovered had a cracked glass in the window which faced the main road and although frosted was still rather revealing,no curtain or blind. The wash basin was one which would usually be found in a small household cloakroom. It had a cascade style tap which meant that most of the water landed on the floor.Trying to put water into the kettle was a feat of acrobatics with the basin being so tiny.[Please see photos}The wash basin was also partially blocked and would only drain very slowly. There wasn’t a ceiling light in the room which meant relying on the bedside lamps and one on the desk. One of the bedside lights wasn’t working at all. Both these faults were reported to reception but nothing was done.I mentioned this to a staff member on our departure so maybe the next incumbent would have more luck. We found out from another disgruntled guest that the rooms were not serviced on a daily basis unless requested. How are the guests supposed to know this? The tea and milk were replenished. A previous occupant?had broken a necklace and we kept finding beads from it scattered on the floor which must question how recently our room had been cleaned properly before our arrival. Tea making items were stowed on a very low table close to the side of the bed blocking access. Never before seen the television plug and wires coming from the ceiling. Overall our stay wasn’t anywhere near as good as we had anticipated.Everything seemed minimal but with a little effort it could have been much better. Breakfast wasn’t good.No pot of tea just a mug and we weren’t offered a refill.Toast was available but only if requested. How are guests supposed to know this if not informed by staff?Just two cereals to choose from.I ordered porridge which should come with fresh fruit and honey.I asked not to have the honey but it arrived without any fruit either. In its favour it is well situated for the bridge but I don’t think we will be hurrying back there anytime soon.

Avoid this at all costs. Booked this superior room 2 months ago due to the pub restaurant doing a good selection of vegi food . Imagine my surprise when I turned up there and the pub had been closed for some months due to a fire. The malt house never informed me or even sent a email to suggest that the restaurant was closed. The so called superior room was a disgrace, there was very poor lighting and no heat . We told manager and said he was sending maintenance but never arrived. I fixed the heater myself (I'm an electrician). After about 1hour in room we called it a day and left Never to return.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this B&B. The room was disgustingly dirty, with dead flies everywhere and a pervasive smell of damp that made it nearly unbearable. The toilet was filthy, and to top it off, there were half-used shampoo bottles left behind from a previous guest. The online pictures were completely misleading; they bore no resemblance to the grim reality of the room I stayed in. To make matters worse, the management promised a full refund during my stay, but now they are avoiding our calls and emails. I would not recommend this place to anyone; it’s worse than a college dormitory.
