This property was the old Four Seasons resort and now a Marriott Ritz Carlton. The front desk advised they will be undergoing a major renovation soon. Until then, even with rooms that are a little dated decor-wise, the property still provides a first class experience from room comfort and cleanliness to the friendly and accommodating front desk to their in-room dining experience. I made two separate last minute reservations and ended up with upgraded rooms both times. The front desk was really helpful with my late check out requests. In-room dining for breakfast was fresh, nice portions and able to make substitutions with ease. If you need to be in Irving, TX for work or pleasure, this is still the place to be for a stay with a nice touch of luxury.

We chose to stay in this section of Irving as we did not desire to be in downtown Dallas. It was a short 15 minute drive to downtown, but note there is a lot of construction on the interstate so time may vary. The hotel has a modern theme and style. We noticed that the carpet in the hall is very dark and the hallway could use more light. The room is a divided into the bed/ TV section and behind it was a sink and bathroom. The size reminded us of a cruise ship bathroom. The room was quite. Housekeeping is on a request. We just need towels and face cloths so the front desk easily supplied these. Parking is free. The workers were all very pleasant. The hotel has a bar, but no food offerings other than a breakfast you need to pay for and an area to buy snacks. But don’t worry, in easy walking distance are several eateries. There is a Chipotle and a Corner Bakery which closes past noon. If you don’t mind crossing a busy street there is a McDonalds. A short drive from the hotel (1 to 1.5 miles) is the Toyota Music Center with several eateries as well.

Staff was exceptional, but the property needs upgrading, new furniture and decorations to include painting. Great location, quiet, and centrally located. My initial room looked like a phat house, or party toke place the night, or week prior. The management team quickly changed the room at my request!

Me and my friend stayed here for 7 nights as we were attending Wrestlemania, but also wanted to visit the DFW area. 
Airport Very simple and straight forward arriving in DFW from the UK. If you aren’t driving like us, you can either get a cab to the hotel, or hop on the Dart and get off at the Urban Center station. Once you’re at the station give the hotel a call and they’ll send their shuttle bus to collect you.
 Hotel in general The hotel was very clean and well maintained. It has a small shop inside which is reasonably priced compared to the 7/11 next door lol 
Hotel Location There are plenty of bars and restaurants within 15 minutes walk of the hotel. But further afield you can head into Dallas or Fort Worth by train or cab. 

Hotel Room A basic room but very clean, and had everything you’d need for a stay. The bed is very comfortable, and the air con worked very well thankfully due to the heat! Wi-Fi The Wi-Fi was fast and stable, and allowed me to keep in contact with my family back home.

Staff
I mainly dealt with the reception staff, who were all lovely. The housekeeping were always visible and everything was spotless. Shuttle Bus Will take you too and from the local area up until 10pm. We used this for the first 2 days to get a footing in the area, then once we knew where we was we walked to most places. 
Local Area There is a canal and Lake you can walk around which is really relaxing in the morning. Do yourself a favour and visit The a corner Bakery and The Ginger Man in Las Colinas, and also Nosh & Bottle and the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at the Music Factory. However all the people I met in the local area were awesome so do check out as much as you can. Wider Area Not too far from Dallas where there is plenty to do. Either a couple of dollars on the Dart or around $18-$20. There is plenty to do in Dallas which is well documented, but if you get the time please do go visit Fort Worth and get down to the Stock Yards. A taxi from Fort Worth though is higher though at about $35-$40.

All in all... I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone. If you’re visiting Dallas, I’d say stay here so you’re close enough to visit but can retreat to a quieter area. Book an extra day or two as well to take in the wider DFW area.

Stayed a few days this week and “worked” from the room, which was difficult to do because it was so loud. The windows are very old and do not provide any sound proofing. This made conducting virtual meetings a challenge. Travel a lot for work and would not stay here again. The fan in the bathroom, which comes on when you turn the light, was excessively loud and aggravating. Overall, besides the lobby the entire hotel needs an update. Did not eat the breakfast, but my significant other said it was the only redeeming quality. *Our first night I woke up to what sounded like gun fire around 2:00 am. Got up and looked outside to see adults and very young children congregated in the parking lot near the front lobby. Then sirens … Not a good experience. Stay at the new Element by Westin/Marriott. It is in the same parking lot and we stayed there as well this week. It was fantastic !

Hotel room and lobby were clean, staff was very friendly and accomodating. We had 9 rooms in my group and zero complaints! Location is very convenient as well, starbucks is right across the street but the lobby always had fresh coffee and water too.

I appreciated the friendliness of the front staff but not much more to brag about. The hotel is older and in a location that requires a car to get to pretty much any restaurant. Bed was ok but older style pillow mattresses Limited amenities including no hand lotion or hair dryer. I can’t remember the last hotel I stayed without a hair dryer? Front desk was kind enough to find me one but when taking out of the bag it was dirty and gross. Noticed a few sugar ants on the desk and table each day. I know some hotels aren’t doing daily cleaning but was never informed this hotel was doing this so was disappointed when I returned after a long day to find no service to the room. The ants enjoyed the empty cup with some residual juice. I’m pretty sure the heat /AC would get confused as I swear a few times it went from heat to A/C just trying to keep the room the temp I set. Breakfast not included and the limited selection seemed expensive given the overall quality of the hotel. I would not stay here again.

The family of three lived here before returning home by plane. The room is big enough to pack your luggage. The equipment and facilities are well maintained and very clean. There is a free breakfast, I can't say a lot of things, but it is very comfortable to eat. Very cost-effective hyatt
