The actual accommodation probably rates a three, but the staff and location were so favorable that we think it deserves a four. This is not a luxury place by any means, but it is in the middle of everything and close to anything one would wish to access in Playa Norte. Even the rooms on the street side were not too loud. The folks who work here are very nice and helpful. It is also handy to rent a golf cart on-site for a discounted rate to hotel guests.

The reviews do not reflect the experience we had in this hotel. Thankfully only stayed one night. Pros were that the bed was comfortable, the room was large and the location was central. Cons far outweigh pros. The room was not up to the same level of cleanliness as other hotels we stayed in Isla Mujeres and elsewhere in Mexico. Under the bed was dirty and the fridge was dirty. There were ants in the bathroom and beside sink area in bedroom. No hot water. Wifi was terrible. No beach towels available either day. No water in room. We were woken up at 7:20 am due to an arugement in the recpetion area. Explained issues to receptionist on checkout and asked for partial refund. Understandably didn’t get refund but expected an apology at a minimum which we didn’t get. Felt the concerns raised fell on deaf ears. This hotel was overpriced for what it is. We stayed in another hotel in Isla Mujeres which was cheaper and held a far higher standard.

We couldn’t have found anywhere more perfectly located ! Literally 5 minutes from a couple of beaches and also with all the bars and restaurants on our doorstep to wander around in the evenings soaking up the live music and amazing cocktails! The hotel is tiny but the service is great Clean towels everyday beach towels provided and the bed changed every other day ! Fresh coffee every morning and gorgeous cake ! The staff are so helpful ! Would have no hesitation in recommending

A good option if you can't (or don't want to) pay "top dollar" on an island that's become ridiculously expensive. It's still an overpriced hotel IMO, but more reasonable than most. The staff are friendly, especially the young lady who works at the "front desk" (as of January 2023). I forget her name, but she is very sweet and kind! She was always smiling, waving, and made us feel welcome. She tried her best to understand our needs and help us, even though there's obviously a language barrier. She is MUCH nicer than the women who work at the golf car rental El Sol (in the same building). The only problem was our booking confirmation said "credit card accepted", but their machine wasn't working so we had to take out $16,000+ pesos at the ABM that cost a lot more in fees (multiple transactions). That was annoying and not what we agreed to. You can't flush toilet paper down the toilet because their sewage system can't handle it. So you have to dispose of "used toilet paper" in the trash can (lined with a plastic bag). THAT was a bit of a culture shock, but we got used to it. When we got to the airport and could flush toilet paper again, it did feel amazing though. lol Otherwise, our room (suite) was very big and felt clean, except the bathroom floor was a little dirty. The gentleman who cleans the room works hard. I just wish they'd add a "do not disturb" sign. We don't need our room cleaned or beds made very day. We just need clean towels and the trash (esp with "used toilet paper") emptied every day. There aren't as many towels as we normally get in a hotel either, only 2 bath towels, a hand towel and one for bathroom floor. No wash cloths, but it was OK. Not a big deal. The rooms are nicely updated (cute decor), but if you look closely, you can see that the remodel of the interior of the building was not done by "professionals" - there's paint splattered, uneven floor tiles, hole for sink faucet is too big, etc. There are some basic maintenance issues that could be addressed too, like the door handle on the bathroom door is broken, only one tap works for the bathroom sink, etc. The king-size bed was comfortable (pillow-top mattress). In fact, it was much more comfortable than the bed we had at an expensive resort! So we slept very well. The sheets were clean and soft. The pillows were good. The only problem is there were only 2 pillows and we like to sleep with 2 each. We asked for extra pillows, but the girl at the "front desk" didn't understand we meant "for the bed" and brought sofa cushions. That's OK. We survived. lol We'd recommend they put 4 pillows on a king-size bed though. The water pressure is very low. The Wi-Fi is useless. We could never stay online for long. The room had a nice, HUGE balcony. The view wasn't very appealing (roof tops of local homes and businesses), except the view of the stars and moon at night was wonderful! The only problem is there was only one balcony chair (we kept forgetting to ask for a 2nd cha

It’s located near the beach and near all the restaurants and bars, couple minutes and you are exactly where you want to be, the room is clean and the staff exceeded our expectations, they are super friendly and they helped us giving us so many tips on things we wanted to do, you also have the golf car rental inside the lobby and this was super convenient for the day we wanted to go to punta sur. I would stay here again and again.

This is a small nice hotel, don't let the outisde fool you. The rooms were good and clean and the staff is so nice. From Eduardo at the front to the cleaning guys, they made you feel welcomed. The wifi was very strong in our room and in the lobby. They have breakfast early which inlcudes coffee and toast. We will use them again without a doubt. The golf car rental El Sol is in the same lobby so if you need a cart you can just get one there, super convenient.

It was ok, the staff was in the clouds they couldn't figure out what was our room. Our room was in the 3rd floor without elevator and the room had a weird smell.

A very quaint place that I discovered several years ago while visiting Isla Mujeres. Now I stay at Hotel Kinich every time I visit the island. Extremely clean rooms and the service is very good. The staff makes sure you are happy. The rooms are adequately appointed and offers a very good value for the price. I once booked 25% of all the rooms on the property when I brought several members of my family to the Island. Everyone was very comfortable. I always rent my Golf Cart from the attached rental business and park right at the front door. The thing I would mention is there is not an elevator so you will climb stairs to get to your room. I believe there are 4 floors. The suites are nice but the “jacuzzi” isn’t like a normal jet tub. It’s outside the room on the small patio. The continental breakfast is sp**** but adequate for a light meal.

Staff is super courteous and polite. Towels are good. Room and lobby are clean. Coffee in the morning while being lazy was nice. There were some bugs in the bathroom area. AC was freezing cold.... 7/10
