Azzap Hotel Galata

Karakoy Istanbul|0.38km from Galata Bridge
Just returned from a long weekend in Istanbul with a friend. We really liked the Azzap it's very central and well within walking distance of the usual sights. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean with a lovely reception area which looks both smart and welcoming. Yes the hotel rooms are small - but it's a city hotel, what do you expect!? The beds are extremely comfortable, with lovely pillows and linen, the rooms are well insulated, I know there were people next door to me and I other than their door opening or closing I couldn't hear anything else. I was in the room above my friend and he couldn't hear me walking around. The windows open properly, so you can leave them open when you leave and the housekeeper can close them when she has done the room. I love an aired hotel room! Breakfast is served in the restaurant on the top floor so you get a great view, the choice is small but it's fine and the lady at breakfast is always cheerful and helpful. Ther are couple of things I would like to mention, but this is just for the management to take on board... *the room safes are not bolted in which is pretty pointless, guests might not realise this and leave valuables. We kept ours with us. * I loved the fact that you had to swipe your door key to go to your floor - the lift won't stop unless it is yours, you can't press any other buttons other than your own. Fantastic! * except.... you can walk from one floor to another using the stairs * the carpet on the 6th floor when you get out of the lift to go to the restaurant and bar sees a massive amount of traffic - it looks really grubby All in all, we had a great time, I'd have no hesitation recommending the Azzap.

AHG Atlas Hotel Taksim

Taksim Istanbul|2.26km from Galata Bridge
I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

I want to say at once that the hotel does not match the feedback on this website. I don't know what the guests admire. Just look at the photos. Absolutely killed and scratched hotel. We still got a smoked room. Between the hotel and Bosphorus there is an old building without windows, the view of the Strait is very limited. The only plus-position. Right under the windows of tram, metro, ferries go by Bosphorus, fish market. And in the room in the middle of the room there was a paddle from the parquet, and the husband shook his leg. The staff is responsive, but under such conditions it doesn't save.

The hotel stayed in the last few days may be the room that was used to live in the previous day. I feel that the room is small, but the hotel still has a star level, that is, the smell is too heavy. At first, I saw the scenery of this top floor terrace. It was not far from Independence Street to take a taxi. But I went to the old town and looked at the map. But the front desk said that it was necessary to take a taxi around the old circle. In fact, there is a subway station next to it. It is very close. There is a bit noisy on the street, the glass door is still soundproof. So I think it is convenient to live next to Independence Street in Istanbul. Or live near the old town attractions and visit the attractions. Breakfast is still rich, and the scenery is pleasant to eat.

We have just completed our stay at the Ferman Port hotel and couldn’t be happier. Staff service was amazing and friendly. Breakfast was included and the view from the breakfast room on the top floor is spectacular. We had originally booked a deluxe double room and decided we wanted some extra space even though the room size is bigger than often found in similar hotels. They gave us a fantastic deal on upgrading to the suite and we were ecstatic that we did. I couldn’t recommend the suite more to anyone visiting the hotel as it is very comfortable and luxurious space. Staff couldn’t do enough for us and always were helpful. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit the Galata side of the river.

Everything was great. Especially hotel staff was very helpful and always positive and smiling. Location of hotel is really really good, it is within the walking distance to GALATA Tower, Beyoglu street, Topkapi Palace, Sultanahmet Mosque, Misir Carshisi. Moreover, for shopping there are many souvenir shops and brand magazines, lots of restaurants nearby. The rooms have great view of Sea, the only cons is that rooms are minimal sized.
