Pera Palace Hotel

I love Pera Palace Hotel!!! It's been love at first sight! ❤️ It's been my dream since about two years to spend a night here and finally last night my husband and I did, and even with my extremely high expectations the stay even surpassed those - it was one of the best hotel stays ever - and we had a lot! 😉 Pera Palace Hotel has such a vibrant history and it nourishes this historical vibe, it's like living in a museum, it is as if you've been dropped into another time about one hundred years back - absolutely lovely, mesmerizing, breathtaking! 😍 On the way to our room #512, we took the first elevator of the country made of wood and cast iron and installed in 1892 - what an exciting ride! 🤩 The ROOM!!! I had booked the Greta Garbo corner room and it DID look like on the pictures - beautiful!!! Again, talking about travelling in time ... Bed was comfy, bathroom with cute old style bathtub 🛁 ... Everything was perfect! There was enough complimentary water, the option to make espresso, tea,... Minibar was available as well but we chose to have a nice glass of Whiskey at the Oriental Bar instead in the evening - so stylish, such a cozy flair, plus quite a big choice of different whiskeys ... 🥃 The service from check-in until check-out was impeccable - valet, reception, Turkish coffee at Kubbeli Lounge, drinks at Oriental Bar, Agatha Restaurant for breakfast with a fantastic buffet... the SPA area is quite small, but very nice as well ... We had a little steam room and sauna session that was very relaxing before retiring to our room for the night ... This morning, after the delicious breakfast, we visited the Atatürk museum - room #101 where Atatürk used to reside starting from 1917 until he took residency at Dolmabahçe Palace. What else can I say? Well, check out the list of all the famous people from all over the world who stayed at Pera Palace Hotel! And watch Midnight at the Pera Palace on Netflix 🗝️ 😃 ... And then try it out yourself and you'll see, it's as stunning as I'm saying!!! 😍😍😍 We'll be back, I REALLY want to! ❤️ On the last picture you can see a gift that I received when checking out 🥰 - so it's clear, we are meant to be back!!! And if I choose the room we will stay at very carefully next time we might even be able to travel in time ... 🤣

Such a beautiful hotel — one with a story, a soul, and true history behind it. Still preserved under government care, this marvelous place has hosted some of the greatest guests you could ever imagine. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, once lived here — greeting international visitors and laying the foundations for a better future for his people and his country. His suite has been kept as a tribute; the doors to the Atatürk Room open daily at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., allowing guests to quietly pay their respects. For those drawn to mystery, lose yourself in a cocktail (or two) at the legendary Orient Bar — where Agatha Christie’s Orient Express seems to come alive. Yet among all the tales this hotel carries, its guest service may be the finest story of all. Attentive, kind, and earnest in every gesture — they bridge any language gap with grace and warmth. But bear in mind — the rooms are charmingly old, though the cleanliness is truly impeccable. You can hear faint footsteps above when someone walks around, a reminder of the hotel’s vintage bones. Room temperature control is... let’s say, an adventure. It’s either a steady 22–23.8°C or a blazing 29.8°C. At one point, I thought I was waking up with a tan. I had asked for the heat to be turned up earlier because it was freezing, and while the staff kindly came to fix it, well — this was the outcome so I just opened the window. Last but not least, DO NOT miss out on afternoon tea at the Orient Bar! Thank you Pera Palace :)

Amazing hotel I love this place

Fascinating historical property but has slightly ‘government-run’ feel about it, that was slightly disappointing. My room was on Golden-Horn side and plainly furnished - even a bit drab - but perfectly comfortable and had all required amenities.

This hotel is a historical and unique place. But I was really disappointed with the level of service in the hotel.
