Akin Suites

Location: The hotel is ideally situated near Kadikoy's pier, providing easy access to ferries, buses, and the Havabus airport shuttle. It's within walking distance to metro stations, shops, and restaurants, making it convenient for exploring Istanbul.(based on 1 review)

According to the website they had 4 stars. It is more like a 2 star stay. We had rented the DeLuxe Apartment. All the furniture looked bad, was damaged or had missing handles. The apartment itself was also in bad condition. There was supposed to be satellite TV and a DVD player. Only the TV was there but not via satellite and was difficult to turn on. There was supposed to be free breakfast, but when I asked for it we had to pay for it! Bathrobes were also not provided despite this being stated and the cityscape was the flat across the street where the population lives and quite close to our apartment. There was no automatic cleaning or that clean towels were provided. I had to ask for that myself. There were also no bedside tables next to the bed. No minibar, toaster, coffee maker and drying rack despite this being stated. The heating was either on or off, you could not regulate it with a button which is not comfortable for sleeping. In the bedroom there was 1 small curtain, so not suitable for the entire window. That same window was hard to close, only with force because it was stuck. The sleeping pillows of the cheapest kind so inflexible. Absolutely not recommended!

We have chosen Akin Suites Istanbul to host our wedding guests in Istanbul, but had a terrible experience with them and especially their personel! They have thought that two friends of us had checked out early (even though we wrote several times about the dates), emptied their room without informing us, took (stole?) all their precious items like cash and Nintendo Switch, and threw away all their clothes and shoes to trash. What kind of hotel throws away customer belongings to trash?!? Afterwards they offered money to not turn it into a criminal case, and we had to accept it since the damage was already done and our friends were already leaving the county… But this really made a sour feeling for our guests who was there for our wedding.. Imagine your wedding dresses and shoes being thrown to trash, your Nintendo Switch and cash all gone… They also told the responsible person was fired, but even when we were there, the personnel had no English knowledge and the only person we were able to talk was the owner of the hotel (who was on vacation during these events, which made everything more complicated)… So, please be careful if you decide to stay there! Don’t leave your valuables in your room!
