Absolutely HORRIBLE experience with this host in an apartment that is OLD and OUTDATED. Don’t trust the pictures, this place is below average in every possible way. I should have read the reviews on google before booking on airbnb. The reviews there used to be reliable, but now it’s clear they are biased, highly edited, and curated to maximize profits and give ”Super-Host” status to individuals that don’t deserve the amount of money they’re charging. This is why google reviews are far superior to any other service. Just look below at how many 1 and 2 star reviews this guy got... Let me first comment on the apartment itself, so you get a clear idea of what you’ll get - The bed is cheap. The mattress springs poke out and you feel the metal springs against your back - The furniture stinks like body odor and is way too big for the tiny space - The AC and Heater do not work properly because it is a cheap, old, and manual system -The bathroom is way too small, the plumbing hasn’t been maintained and the temperature of the water is not regulated properly. -The sink in the bathroom is a slop sink. It is too small and unusable -The kitchen doesn’t have a microwave. The sink is not fully installed to the countertop -the living room floors are lopsided. The bedroom doesn’t have a window -The neighbors have loud chickens or pigeons and the sound echoes throughout the apartment 2. Now a little about this dude ”Kerem” This guy is like a used car salesman; malicious, conniving, opportunistic, and deceptive. He has been “hosting” on platforms like Airbnb for years and apparently has learned how to game the system. He managed to become a Super-Host by getting fake reviews, even though his listings are truly sub-par. The apartment is 4 times more expensive than the others in the area, but I booked a 3 night stay anyway because he was rated highly and is a “Superhost” (a designation that means less and less every-time I use it) I tried to make it work for the first two nights, but the apartment was so uncomfortable that I decided to ask Kerem for a refund for the third night, to which he agreed. Kerem wasn’t replying to my messages me on Airbnb; instead, he opted to use Whatsapp. Airbnb does not take messages on other platforms into consideration when they mediate disputes; a convenient policy for someone who might have ulterior intentions. He whatsapped me that he initiated the refund and that it would take several days to process. I assumed he was being honest so I booked somewhere else. Several days had passed I asked again about it, he said that it would take 10 more days to process. This is when I sensed something fishy; I’ve hosted people and issued refunds on airbnb in the past, it takes 3 or 4 days not 2 weeks… But I was disoriented after a surgery and couldn’t investigate the matter further. Plus, why assume the worst in people. Well, apparently Airbnb only allows guests a certain number of days after a trip to leave reviews; anot

Hotel Bosfora

Besiktas Istanbul|0.45km from ITU FACULTY OF BUSINESS
If you’re looking for a very good hotel in Beşiktaş, don’t search alot and choose this one. I stayed at Hotel Basfora in end of June 2023 and it was amazing! The location was perfect, surrounded by great restaurants and shops and it was near to the attractions places in Istanbul. The neighbourhood was peaceful, ensuring a good night's sleep. The reception staff, especially Mehmet, were incredibly responsive, welcoming, and very helpful. His warm welcome, guidance, and assistance made our stay even more enjoyable, this applies to all the other staff also. The cost vs value at Hotel Basfora was excellent, offering a great experience at a reasonable price. However, it would be even better if the price included breakfast. Starting the day with a delicious meal would have added that extra touch of convenience and value. Additionally, there were a few minor maintenance issues in the bathroom, with water flow and a broken iron and AC. The elevator was also a bit slow and the rooms are not spacious. These are areas that could be improved to enhance guest satisfaction. Nevertheless, despite these minor drawbacks, Hotel Basfora remains a fantastic choice for an affordable stay in Istanbul. Also one note: there’s another hotel called Basfora plus belongs to the same owner, make sure to read the reviews of that one too, I made a mistake by going there first but I got to know the amazing reception staff there. Cheers to you.

The best location of the hotel. The parking lot in front of it is narrow, and the valet service can solve the problem a little bit. The only problem was that check-in was 1 hour late, other than that, I can recommend it for its location.

Super location, centrally located, bus station and ferry (only 6 minutes to Üsküdar on the Asian side) is not 10 minutes walking distance. The partly steep road from the bus station back to the hotel, was, after a tip of very friendly staff, no problem anymore. The next bus stop on line 30M is only about 100 steps further above (It is very important after a long hard day). Our wish for sea view (Straight) and smoking rooms could be met. When open windows were open and somewhat noisy but closed, they were beautifully close and quiet. Change dressing room with safe, kitchen area with vacuum ... sticks, plates, ... even water cookers. Shower area with fence and enough light and several mirrors. Good hot water pressure. Except for toilet brushes all new.. Dental brushes Rasing tools shampoo, shower gel. Parbet very comfortable and quiet.. thick mattress, thick deck big, in all directions rotating flat screen. The free Wi-Fi, which did not work properly on the first day in the room at the 5th floor, was solved directly next day. Good fast reception. We have a home in Istanbul now. The staff were amazing and helpful and so welcoming. Starting from Miss Selin who made our booking and the manager Mr Serhat they both put all there efforts to make us comfortable during our stay. I recommend them for 5 stars hotel. The hotel is in good location walking distance to supermarket, restaurants, pharmacy and even a hospital for any emergency. There is also many shops within the area. All in 5-10 minutes walking distance. Great place for families and the rooms were clean and neat. Toilets like new and very clean. We felt home even though it was our first time to travel to istanbul. Breakfast is regular but is good. Thank you :)
