AHG Atlas Hotel Taksim

Taksim Istanbul|1.23km from Rainbow Stairs
I have booked at Pera orient hotel because it offers what I want from an hotel during my travels and the feedbacks were in its favor. Just after my booking was done I stumble on a negative review that was posted on trip advisor. I was worried about my choice. But when I went to Istanbul and stayed there, I felt compelled to share my own experience, which was entirely different and absolutely fantastic! I believe it's essential to give credit where credit is due. First of all , if you are seeking a resort , Pera Orient is not a resort and it never claims to be one! My stay at Pera Orient was comfortable and pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the friendly and attentive staff, who made their best to help me in every possible way and to answer my queries during my 5-day long stay. Their warm smiles and genuine willingness to assist truly set the tone for my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal. A 6 min walk from the hotel takes you to Taksim square where you can take the Metro or bus to reach your desired destination. And it allowed me to make regular daily walks on istikal street . The street is a little narrow yes, but there are plenty of hotels all around that I have never felt scared or unsafe ( as it was mentioned in the negative review). And I always took the upward direction then turn right towards taksim. I was greeted by a spotless clean room with a tasteful decor. The bed was incredibly comfortable, The housekeeping staff was attentive and meticulous, making sure that my room was impeccably cleaned each day. Coffee and tea were left daily next to the kettle (sometimes with a bottle of water). When I will visit Istanbul again , I will definitely chose Pera Orient to stay in.

Our appreciation goes to the staff. We are a couple and we entered in the reception of the hotel in the middle of the night to ask for help in order to call an Uber or Taxi (in Istanbul is a big problem with Uber because everybody cancels you). The staff was really supportive, gave us water and helped us to stop a taxi. The first taxi was a scam (he wanted to charge the price for going to the airport for a 4km ride) and we came back to the hotel. The staff was so friendly again and talked firmly to the next driver about the price in turkish. We are really grateful for their kindness and, for sure, we will recommend them and try to come there for our next stay in Istanbul.

It is the only hotel that has satisfied me since my arrival in Istanbul, because during my stay I had to change the hotels every day because of the bad service and smells in the room. But for this hotel I recommend it to 1000% you would not be disappointed

I am very satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The staff were overly helpful and friendly, helping me in the small details. The location is excellent, I literally walked to Istiklal Avenue countless times, and for further distances, I walked to the Tophane metro station which is like 2 minutes away. The room was great: the furniture modern and clean. Very very comfortable. Even the room service and laundry services were excellent! I will definitely stay here again. I highly recommend!

I didn't eat, I only stayed one night without even having breakfast having had a very early flight. Nice room and very big, only flaw the noise coming from the street being on a very busy street.

Good place, easy to find, close to many places to eat and shop. Love the sofa and coffee table in my room. The coffee table even turns into a computer desk, good idea for digital nomad like me. Good eater pressure in the shower head.

I fell for the photos advertised online and on Booking.com and ended up booking this hotel for our Istanbul trip. Well, I really don't know where to start - apart than the location and the friendliness of the breakfast staff, I cannot mention anything positive regarding our stay. Contrary to the highly-polished and strongly-edited photos on Booking.com, the room was unbearable and the hygiene was obviously not a top priority. I found a clipped nail under our drawer (marked in red in photo attached), long hair everywhere and God knows what else was hidden that I (luckily) did not get to see. The walls in the bathroom were full of mold, the towels had holes in them, bathroom floor had a black spot (photo attached) and I had never seen such a dirty hotel in my entire life. On a positive note, the personnel on the breakfast floor were always smiling, attentive and friendly during breakfast time. However, I find it absolutely shameless to advertise such highly-polished photos online whereas the hotel is full of dirt and lacking hygiene. If you are planning to come to Istanbul, do not touch this hotel and spend your money on something else.
