Reviews of Hotel Sun Hatoya

The food was very good. The only disappointing thing was that even though it was Golden Week, there were mosquitoes everywhere in the large building that had overwintered, and my child was bitten by many of them. It was a shame that he was covered in insect bites at the end of April. Mosquitoes also came into the room from the hallway when the door was opened and closed. I killed 10 of them. Also, it was a problem that the shower temperature in the large public bath on the first floor was 40 degrees and the lever could not be changed. Why don't they make it possible to change the temperature? My child said it was too hot, which was a problem.

A couple will stay at the "Oceanfront Corner Room Plan" on Thursday, March 27, 2025. A long time ago, I stayed here for one night when my workplace rented it out for 1,000 people, and this is the first time I've stayed here since then. Currently, you can stay overnight on Saturdays and during busy periods (when schools are on long holidays), and the day spa seems to be operated in the same way, so it's a must to check the opening hours in advance. 1- It's spring break, so there are a lot of families. The heated pool and table tennis (!) seem to be popular. 2- There are two underwater hot springs, and men and women switch in the early morning, so if you stay overnight, you can use both. There are some super hot baths, but this one isn't, so even children can stay in it for a long time. The sea turtles are bigger than I expected, and it looks like two people can fit in them. There are also a lot of fish swimming around. There is also an open-air bath. 3- There were people on a company trip, which is rare these days. It's a nostalgic world of banquets in the large hall. 4- There were four tourist buses, and I also saw a group of tourists from Southeast Asia. However, perhaps because we were on different floors and dining areas, we didn't see anyone outside the hallway, and we didn't see anyone in the large public bath either. Perhaps they came from a hot country and didn't want to take a hot bath. 5- The dinner buffet was no different from other inns, and 70% of the seats were filled. There was a Japanese dance stage at the spring break special dinner show, and it was my first time seeing real Japanese dance. Apparently they usually do project mapping. 6- The facilities are old, but the rooms and baths are well cleaned. 7- These days, even TV dramas use CG, and the internet is full of virtual worlds with AI processing. But here, the fish in the undersea hot spring, the pigeons flying onto the stage, and the Japanese dance in the show are all real and unprocessed. There aren't many hotels that go to such lengths to maintain an aquarium attached to the baths, or pump up hot spring water from a source 1km below the sea.

Building: It's so worn out that it can't be described as a Showa era. Room: Small and smelly. Food: Bad. Service: Terrible. They definitely don't want you to have a comfortable stay. Apparently they're switching the air conditioning system around at this time of year, so the air conditioner can't be used. It's muggy whether you're inside, in the hallway, or in the lobby. When I asked the hotel staff, they just kept saying they can only blow air on the ventilator... I didn't expect to have to experience a sleepless night in late October while sweating. I didn't want to raise my body temperature as much as possible, so unfortunately I gave up on taking a bath in the hot spring. I slept on my futon while sweating a lot, so I thought that the sweat of many people must have soaked into my futon, and I went to bed feeling uncomfortable. I'll never come again. If my acquaintances or friends are going on a trip to Ito, I will definitely tell them to never stay here. This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. It's much more comfortable to stay at a manga cafe.

There was no greeting at check-in. Several staff members were just standing around the entrance to the building. They were probably part-timers or something. The building seemed very clean. The meals were served buffet style, and because there was a magic show, the seating layout was in several vertical rows and the seats were fixed, so it felt cramped and narrow. The food was fresher and more delicious than at the Itoen Resort hotel where I stayed the night before, but the rest of the food was pretty much the same. I was surprised that there are hotels these days that don't have a soft drink bar. They only offer tea and water. The undersea bath was nice, but the water temperature seemed too low. I heard that this hotel is famous for its commercials or something, but I probably won't stay there again.

I visited in the spring of 2024. When I was young, I was fascinated by the Hatoya commercial and my parents took me there, but they made a reservation at the Hatoya Hotel. I still remember the shock I felt when the waitress at the time told me, "That's San Hatoya." I had a child, so I decided to go there as a revenge and to make him happy at the undersea hot spring. The reservation staff's service was very good, so I visited with high expectations. The interior had a Showa-era feel, and in a good way, it felt like a time slip. However, the front desk's service was frankly not good. There was no one at the hotel's rotary, and when I asked the front desk about parking, they didn't even say "Welcome!", which is not good customer service at all. If this is the case from the beginning, I can't expect any more from my stay. The hot spring was the undersea hot spring I had dreamed of, and I was satisfied, but it seems that the sauna is not open in the morning or after 7:00 p.m. Also, the men's and women's baths alternate daily. We had a luxurious private room plan for meals. There was a lot to be said, so it was good. The wait staff was nice, but the drinks that were not available were listed on the menu. The arcade has a lot of crane games. It's good for families. The souvenir shop is closed at certain times. The only alcohol vending machine is next to the large bath. Overall, it's not bad, but I won't be visiting again. The cups and plates are dirty and noticeable at various points. It's a shame because if they had more hospitality in addition to the undersea hot springs, food, and customer service, it could have been a good hotel. However, I think it's worth visiting at least once.

コマーシャルは昔たくさん見聞きしたことはあるけど、泊まるのは初めてかも。昭和の雰囲気をそのまま残した施設の雰囲気は悪くないのだが、オフの日だったせいか遊休施設が多く、メンテが行き届いていない。部屋の入口のフスマの把手が90°曲がってつけられていて開けにくかったり。ロビーの突き当たりの喫煙所は屋外の海に面したベランダなのだが、そこに寄りついているらしい鳩のフンや抜け毛が、並んで植えられているソテツの葉にこびりついていて、ハタキでもかけたら良かろうと思った。団体旅行だったが料理はあまり評判がよくなかった。
