Reviews of Sanyo-so

The hygiene was really poor. The toilet in my room hadn't been cleaned, and there was still fecal matter left by the previous guest. After I reported the issue, the hotel sent someone to clean it, but their attitude was very disappointing. First, after cleaning, the staff member asked me, "It's clean now, do you have any other problems?" This made me extremely uncomfortable. What else did they expect me to have problems with?! After they all left, I became even angrier. Not only did it ruin my mood and waste my time, but wasn't it their basic duty to clean it properly in the first place? I complained to Trip.com, and they relayed my demands to the hotel. I requested compensation. The outcome of the communication was that the hotel was reluctant to offer compensation but could change my room. Yes, if I hadn't complained, they wouldn't have even considered moving me to another room. They kept apologizing afterward, but by then it was meaningless. The hotel's initial handling of such a basic mistake was thoroughly disappointing. The food wasn't tasty either.

The rooms are spacious, and the environment is quiet and pleasant, making it ideal for families with children.

The ambiance is absolutely wonderful, and the service is excellent. The hot spring baths were incredibly relaxing, especially the outdoor ones. The meals are exquisitely prepared with high-quality ingredients. It's the perfect place to completely unwind and relax within the hotel.

This hotel feels more like a sprawling resort. It's incredibly spacious, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. While exploring East Izu from here might be a bit of a trek, often requiring a private car hire, a stay here is truly unforgettable. The scenery is simply unparalleled, exuding an air of understated luxury.

The hotel provided excellent service, and the facilities were well-equipped. Breakfast and dinner arrangements were also quite good.

A great experience!

Hmmmmm where do I begin. From the moment we arrived to the second we left, we could not have had a better time. The private onsen is the highlight of the trip. The spacious room and the beds on the beds they were so comfortable that we had had looked up the supplier and paid a visit to their store in Tokyo. Would definitely stay here again and totally worth it.

Overall, it's pretty decent, but the bathrooms are a bit dated. The courtyard offers a nice view, but it's inaccessible, which is a bit frustrating. Dinner was good. However, the price felt a bit steep.
