While I appreciate the kindness and professionalism of the front desk staff, there were several aspects of my stay that were disappointing, especially since I always choose hotels over Airbnbs because of the amenities and convenience they provide. I arrived around 8:20 p.m. on July 3. During check-in, I asked whether there were any restaurants nearby and was told there really weren’t, but that the hotel kitchen was still open. I immediately went to order food, only to be told by someone in the kitchen that they were already closed, despite the posted hours indicating they were open until 10:00 p.m. I also noticed the front desk telling another guest who checked in after me that the kitchen was still open, and the amenities information I received at check-in also listed the kitchen as available. I then went to Room 325, where the temperature was 86 degrees. The room felt like a sauna. I lowered the thermostat to 60 degrees, but after approximately 40 minutes, the temperature had not changed and the thermostat still read 86. Additionally, the light in the sitting area flickered and would not stay on. While waiting for my DoorDash order, I spent about 20 minutes downstairs because the lobby was significantly cooler than my room. After returning with my food, the room was still extremely hot, although the light had finally come on. I contacted the front desk, explained the situation, and was advised to come downstairs to receive a different room. I was moved to Room ***, which was comfortably cool upon arrival. However, I noticed dead insects on the floor and stains in the floor beneath the bedside table. I also realized there was no hand soap in the bathroom, and the following morning I discovered there wasn’t any toilet paper either. On Saturday evening, after returning to the hotel expecting to order dinner well before 8:30 as to not run into the same issue from the day before, I was informed that the kitchen would be closed for the remainder of the weekend. Unfortunately, this information was never shared during check-in, and had I known, I would have planned accordingly. Overall, while I appreciate the courtesy of your staff and the prompt room change, the combination of inaccurate information, maintenance issues, cleanliness concerns, and missing basic amenities resulted in a stay that fell well below my expectations. I simply expected a more consistent experience and hope this feedback is helpful in improving future guests’ stays. I’m willing to give it another try because I was advised they are fairly new.
