Hotel Bissau Palace

Please don't stay here. There's much nicer and cleaner places available in Jaipur. Don't be fooled by the nice website photos, and heritage status... it's nothing like a 3*hotel! It's dirty and well past it's heyday. The staff were cordial but not particularly welcoming. This place needs to close for refurbishment and severe cleaning before it takes paying guests again.

A really quirky hotel full of charm ! we had the Maharajah's suite! wonderful, our friend had the Princess suite with Karma Sutra murals! wonderful decor throughout. Bathrooms could do with an update but the sheer wonder of the decor outweighs that ! staff lovely and helpful. Breakfast good.Location ...interesting, bangle wholesalers galore !. need transport,tuk tuks always seemed to around It's charming well worth the money and experience !.

The big win of this hotel is the amazing ambiance of the palace stile as well as the huge garden, where one can recover from the city. Drawbacks are the area in which it is situated as it is a bit rough and that it the rooms are quite basic apart of the ambiance. However, it was the best hotel of this price class we had been to in India and therefore the best in terms of value you get for the price.

Our stay at Hotel Bissau Palace was very enjoyable. On the first night our room left a little to be desired (it was not in the main building, rather in the adjacent wing), but thankfully the ***ager allowed us to change rooms the following night. The restaurant offered fantastic choice of dishes. Everything we tried was delicious.

We stayed at Bissau Palace in Jaipur and it was pretty cool. Although the room is a bit outdated but was a super comfortable stay and felt like staying in one of those royal palaces. The staff were friendly and had good breakfast options. It is within walking distance of Chadpole station and a bazaar. Even with the older-style room, we had a great time there.

The hotel is quirky due to its historical structure and style. The decoration is really nice and the bedrooms are stylish. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant offered a wide variety of food. The downside was the poor wifi.

It is a wonderful historic palace with large spacious rooms. The bed was firm, and the bathroom was a little dated. The breakfast buffet was fine. Intermittent wifi was weak most of the time. Located near Jaipur market and Metro. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

Older charming property… but also a bit worn around the edges. Wi-fi was iffy at best. Staff is lovely. Breakfast was fine and included. Even though close to the Pink City it’s not really walkable mostly due to drivers and roads. The hotel provided drivers which was a great plus (drivers knew Jaipur very well) however be sure to check the daily rates - how much goes to the driver and how much to the house ahead of time to ensure you get the best AND correct rates.

A historic building with lots of potential, it’s just a bit neglected at the moment and could do with a deep clean. When we checked in, I looked back at the photos on the website which we’d used to book the place as it wasn’t what I expected. The photos are of the place but they are not an entirely accurate reflection. Good points: We had a drink in the public room each evening; the room was quirky and pleasant, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the restaurant on our first night - there were interesting options and they tasted nice. We had breakfast on 2 mornings and it was good. The staff were helpful throughout. The shower was powerful enough and there was plenty of hot water for 2 of us to have showers one after the other. Although we had a couple of issues with the Wi-Fi and a blocked toilet, the staff were super quick and efficient at sorting them out for us. Improvement points: The bedroom could do with a deep clean. There are also lots of light switches in the room and it takes quite some time to work out what does which light (it would be useful to have signs/labels on them. I think the light switches were the worst regarding cleanliness, I felt I had to wash my hands each time I touched a one (they were filthy, to the point that I started using my elbow to turn them on and off rather than touch them again). There is a fountain in the bedroom we had; very quirky feature and ties in with the heritage feel but you have to also be very careful not to trip over it when going to the bathroom as it’s bang in the centre and very low. It also doesn’t help that it doesn’t work, when we found the switch associated with it, it’s not even a trickle when it’s turned on. Not essential but the tv had one English speaking channel, CNN. There is no smart tv. The bed sheet had a few red stains on, but they had been freshly laundered and ironed (it looked like lipstick). Although it is a heritage property, the bathroom still needs a new bath (it is ancient and really really shabby) AND the grounding needs a good scrub / replaced. I wasn’t prepared to use the bath. I did stand in it for a shower though.
