It is a family-run heritage hotel, steeped in deep history. I was fascinated by the traditional architecture and stunning mural art! The ambience is enhanced by a display of traditional military artefacts that reflect the royal heritage of the Bissau family. The old, fading photographs of the family ancestors impart a sense of nostalgia for a bygone era! The dining rooms are cosy and tidy. There is a sense of refinement and class. The Bissau family is closely involved in day-to-day running of the hotel and this imparts a personal touch to the hospitality. The staff are dressed smartly, are polite and curteous. They are attentive to the smallest of your needs and are ever so helpful! I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to experience the Rajput royal hospitality at it's finest! Well done, dear Bissaus!

Bissau Palace is one of Jaipur’s oldest hotels, offering a glimpse into a bygone era with its antique décor, vintage photographs, and even a classic car proudly displayed in the lobby. The grand guest registration book at reception adds to the old-world charm, making the check-in experience unique and memorable. Heritage & Atmosphere: The hotel is undeniably rich in history, with its regal interiors and an impressive collection of artifacts. However, time has taken its toll. While the charm of an old building is undeniable, the lack of upkeep is evident, with dust accumulating in various corners and an overall sense of neglect in the rooms. Rooms & Comfort: The vintage aesthetic is appealing, but the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Guests may find that furnishings and amenities show signs of age and wear. The low water pressure in the shower was also an inconvenience, diminishing the comfort level of the stay. Dining & Breakfast: The breakfast experience was underwhelming, with limited offerings that did not impress. However, the omelet and coffee stood out as the only highlights of the morning meal. A more refined and varied selection would greatly enhance the dining experience. Location: Situated a bit far from Jaipur’s bustling city center, the location may not be the most convenient for those looking to explore major attractions with ease. However, for travelers who appreciate a quieter, more secluded atmosphere, it might be an advantage. Service & Hospitality: One of the hotel’s strongest points is its staff. The team is warm, welcoming, and possesses a great sense of humor, adding a personal touch to the stay. Their friendly demeanor helps compensate for some of the hotel’s shortcomings.

Have stayed at the Bissau Palace Hotel several times now and absolutely love it! It has a wonderful bygone charm and character. It's a beautiful Hotel for a unique stay in the peace and tranquility of its grounds, with its lovely garden and great swimming pool. Has an excellent buffet breakfast with a lot of choice. Enjoy breakfast in the lovely restaurant or on the verrandah by the pool. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. I also had some treatments offered at the Hotel by Preeti, who was excellent and felt a treat. We definitely want to return!

As others have said it really is a place of faded glory. The rooms are all individual and with varying degrees of comfort. The place could do with money being spent to update the bathrooms and some of the electrics. Our room smelled musty and there were damp patches. On the plus side the building is a palace and if you want a heritage experience rather than a modern hotel then this fits the bill. It’s completely authentic and the wall paintings are beautiful. The staff are wonderful and attentive and the food is excellent. The breakfast is the most varied that we experienced. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent although one meal would certainly be enough for two people! The hotel is right in the heart of the old city so it is possible to walk to some of the attractions, if you want to take your life in your hands. Although centrally located it is set back in its own grounds and peaceful at night. The pool area is small but it’s possible to eat breakfast by the pool.

Great decoration and paintings. I can imagine that 30 years ago this hotel was fantastic, but now is quite old and badly needs a lift up. Despite that, people at the hotel are very nice and overall is not too bad for a 3* hotel (probably a 2* for US standards)

Review for Cooking Lesson at Bisou Palace, Jaipur Attending a cooking lesson at Bisou Palace in Jaipur was an extraordinary experience! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the palace’s regal charm and warm hospitality. The setting itself is breathtaking, with its intricate architecture and serene ambiance, making it the perfect backdrop for an authentic culinary journey. The lesson was incredibly well-organized, blending hands-on cooking with fascinating insights into Rajasthani cuisine and culture. The chef was not only highly skilled but also a fantastic storyteller, sharing the history and significance behind each dish we prepared. I particularly loved learning to make traditional dishes like dal baati churma and gatte ki sabzi, all with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. What stood out most was the personal attention given to every participant, regardless of their cooking expertise. The chef patiently guided us through each step, offering tips and tricks to replicate the flavors at home. The use of spices, which can often feel intimidating, was demystified in such a way that even a novice could feel confident. The best part? Sitting down to enjoy the meal we prepared in a beautifully decorated dining area. The flavors were exquisite, and the sense of accomplishment made it even more special. If you’re in Jaipur and looking for a unique and immersive experience, I highly recommend the cooking lesson at Bisou Palace. It’s a delightful blend of learning, culture, and indulgence that will leave you with lasting memories and a new appreciation for Rajasthani cuisine. Truly a five-star experience!

What a wonderful oasis in a very crowded city…all the reviews we have read a quite true…it is old…the area around is chaotic…but the most apt description is magical…the staff are just quietly magical…just ask and it happens…the building is magical…the food in the restaurant at night is exceptional…we had a veg tahli and 2 non veg just superb…the server has all the poise of a Parisian waiter…it really is an old palace…

Please don't stay here. There's much nicer and cleaner places available in Jaipur. Don't be fooled by the nice website photos, and heritage status... it's nothing like a 3*hotel! It's dirty and well past it's heyday. The staff were cordial but not particularly welcoming. This place needs to close for refurbishment and severe cleaning before it takes paying guests again.

The big win of this hotel is the amazing ambiance of the palace stile as well as the huge garden, where one can recover from the city. Drawbacks are the area in which it is situated as it is a bit rough and that it the rooms are quite basic apart of the ambiance. However, it was the best hotel of this price class we had been to in India and therefore the best in terms of value you get for the price.

Our stay at Hotel Bissau Palace was very enjoyable. On the first night our room left a little to be desired (it was not in the main building, rather in the adjacent wing), but thankfully the manager allowed us to change rooms the following night. The restaurant offered fantastic choice of dishes. Everything we tried was delicious.

We stayed at Bissau Palace in Jaipur and it was pretty cool. Although the room is a bit outdated but was a super comfortable stay and felt like staying in one of those royal palaces. The staff were friendly and had good breakfast options. It is within walking distance of Chadpole station and a bazaar. Even with the older-style room, we had a great time there.

The hotel is quirky due to its historical structure and style. The decoration is really nice and the bedrooms are stylish. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant offered a wide variety of food. The downside was the poor wifi.
