I recently stayed at The Hide City Jeju and found the location to be one of its strongest points. There are convenience stores right downstairs, and it is within walking distance of shopping areas, restaurants, and other amenities, making it very convenient for travellers. The fridge also worked well throughout our stay, and the shower had good water pressure.
Unfortunately, the accommodation itself was disappointing. We booked a two-bedroom family suite, only to discover upon arrival that one of the bedrooms did not have air conditioning at all. This was not disclosed during booking, nor was it mentioned anywhere in the room description. As a result, the room felt very stuffy and had a mouldy smell when we checked in.
The amenities were also lacking. There was no hand soap provided, and instead of proper bath towels, we were only given a few small face towels, which appeared worn and not particularly clean. Although the suite included a kitchen, the facilities were switched off and unusable. There were no cups, plates, cutlery, or even basic items such as scissors. It felt strange to have a kitchen that served no practical purpose.
The bathroom was probably the biggest disappointment. Once someone showered, the entire bathroom became wet. There were no racks or shelves to place clothes or personal belongings, and the bathroom door could not be locked.
The washing machine was another concern. It was visibly dirty, with hair found in the detergent compartment and dirt inside the drum. No detergent was provided either. Given its condition, we did not feel comfortable using it. Combined with the unusable kitchen facilities, these features seemed to take up space without adding any value to the stay.
The sofa had multiple dried stains and looked like it needed a thorough cleaning. The TV audio quality was poor, and there was no option to change the language settings, which made it difficult to use.
Another major issue was parking. There is essentially no parking available at the property, and finding a parking space nearby was extremely difficult. The alley parking spaces around the building were constantly full, making it frustrating for guests travelling by car.
To make matters worse, there was ongoing construction at the building next door during our stay. The construction noise started early and continued throughout the day, which significantly affected the comfort of our stay.
Overall, the excellent location was the main highlight of our stay. However, the lack of maintenance, cleanliness issues, missing amenities, parking difficulties, construction noise, and misleading room setup made the experience disappointing. While the property has potential because of its convenient location, significant improvements are needed to justify staying here again.
