Gloucester Hotel Hamdeok (formerly Utop Ubless Hotel Jeju Hamdeok)

This hotel is by the sea, and while it's a bit musty, it doesn't actually smell like mold, and the cleanliness is quite good. I booked a city view room, and it gets plenty of sunlight during the day. You can step right out to the ocean, which is beautiful.

The power outlets in the hotel are old and don't charge properly! A staff member stole my lipstick! I booked for three nights but only stayed for two, and the hotel refused to refund me for the one night! I absolutely do not recommend this place! The staff's attitude is awful! The front desk asked me why I was checking out early! I told them I had a family emergency and changed my flight! She said they couldn't issue a refund in that situation! Honestly, I don't know what kind of situation would warrant a refund then! Don't bother booking this hotel! It feels like a two-star hotel in China!

If you're staying in Hamdeok, you definitely need to book a room with an ocean view. This place is conveniently located and really offers great value for money. However, the windows were a bit dirty and the facilities are a bit old; I hope they can improve that.

The room was clean, the sea view was great, there were no strange odors, and I didn't notice any issues with soundproofing. I'm not sure where the negative online reviews came from; personally, I found everything to be good, and the location was very convenient too.

The sea-facing room offered an unbeatable view. The hotel itself is quite small and low-rise, which I guess is typical for Korea. For a room priced over 400 (presumably KRW), the duvet was in pretty bad shape and yellowed. However, we visited during the off-season, so the hotel was very quiet and uncrowded.
