Reviews of Xiangmo Youth Hostel

This has been the best hostel on my travels so far. The location is perfect, on the outskirts of the lovely, quiet old town of Shaxi. Also the public area’s, (inside) garden and rooftop are very nice. It just felt very peaceful. The showers and toilets were very clean at all times. The hostelowner helped me book my bus to lijiang. I loved it here!

It was my the best hostel. I felt my self very comfortable and cozy there. And have one more magic moment. Early morning when I spent time in lobby to me came Charlie Chaplin and painted my portrait. Located in the old town where you get a feeling of magic and life in the old days. but of course this is my personal impression - a romantic person. so to get into a fairy tale you need to believe in a miracle and it will definitely happen to you in this place.

Wonderful hostel in excellent position. At the reception they speak a good english. Amazing common area and atmosphere at night. Definitely recommented.

It's a small guesthouse in beautiful Shax towni. It is near the North Gate of the city, very easy to navigate. The English name of it is the Alley. I think Xiangmo is the pinyin of its Chinese name. The bed is big, clean, comfortable. They clean the room daily. Nice common areas for social activities. I arrived earlier than the check in time, they offered me the room right away when it's ready. Though staying there for 1 night, I really liked it. Highly recommend.

Nice place to stay in Shaxizhen. Very close to everything. The only downside is that they only have squat toilets and that the bed is a bit hard, which can be uncomfortable for some people, but it was ok for me.

Location is in the shaxi town. Quite convenient to go anywhere.

Hostel was decent, and good value. Bed was hard but comfortable enough. Bathrooms were clean enough, although for foreigners just know there's only squat toilets. The staff were helpful, and good with using translators to explain everything which was appreciated. Location is great, perfect to spend a night in Shaxi for a good price. However there was no lock on the door to the room (although there is a small locker in the room), but given its a small town security isn't too much of an issue. I forgot to take photos of the rooms but the view from the roof is nice. Overall, decent stay.
