Qingdao Shang He Jianguo Hotel

The hotel is very close to the Silk Road Romance show, a short taxi ride away or under 10 yuan by ride-hailing app. The room facilities, environment, and soundproofing were also quite good. The front desk even gave me a free upgrade. If you're coming to Qingdao specifically for the Romance show, this hotel is a good option.

My stay at the Qingdao SCO Jian Guo Hotel was, overall, a 7/10 experience, with a few minor flaws. I'm sharing my honest thoughts for those planning a business trip or attending a conference. There's a lot to praise: As a landmark five-star hotel in the SCO Demonstration Zone, the architecture is grand and upscale. The lobby design incorporates Silk Road culture, creating a fantastic ambiance. The guest rooms are spacious with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows offering great views. All the facilities are brand new, with a New Chinese style, and the bedding is soft, ensuring a very peaceful night's sleep. The underground parking has over 400 spaces and is free, which is very thoughtful, including EV charging stations, so self-drivers never have to wait for a spot. The conference venues are top-notch, with a massive pillar-less ballroom equipped with professional audio-visual equipment, perfect for large team-building events and business receptions. The front desk and housekeeping staff are well-trained, polite, and discreet, and respond to requests very efficiently. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of choices. However, there are also some downsides: The hotel is located in the core of the SCO Demonstration Zone, quite far from Jiaozhou's main urban area and Qingdao city center. There are fewer surrounding supermarkets, shops, and restaurants, so transportation relies on driving or taxis. On a side note: there are city-designated shared electric bikes available to the west of the hotel. During peak breakfast hours, some hot dishes weren't kept warm enough and were often cold when I got them, which significantly impacted the experience. The disposable toothbrushes in the room felt quite ordinary, a bit below what I'd expect from a five-star hotel. Overall, the hardware and service capabilities fully meet five-star standards, making it ideal for conference teams. If they could improve the surrounding amenities, food insulation, and in-room details, the experience would be even more perfect.

I came for a concert, and it was about a 25-minute drive from the venue. I was pleasantly surprised to find out they offer a shuttle service! This is a five-star hotel in Shanghe. The front desk staff, Luna, Nina, and Jerry, were incredibly attentive, thoughtful, and very enthusiastic. The breakfast was excellent, and the 'Pearl of Shanghe' is nearby if you're looking for something to see. The bedding was super comfortable, and the soundproofing was also great. Highly recommend!

The bedding was comfortable, the bathtub helped relieve a full day's fatigue, and breakfast was also good. The surrounding area is quiet and comfortable. I'll definitely recommend it to friends visiting Qingdao!
