AEI at Kaanapali Shores

We reserved (2) 2 bedroom condos. 1 condo was clean and upgraded but the 2nd was very dated and dirty. The furniture was worn and stained. There were no blankets or extra bedding provided. The kitchen lacked enough pots and pans to cook a dinner for 4. The closet doors were old and difficult to open and close. The air conditioning was not working when we arrived and we were not told about this at check in and the room smelled musty. The air conditioning stopped working a second time and we were not notified again even though I received text messages about things we could spend money on every day. Many of the electrical outlets did not work and the lamps in each room were either broken or difficult to turn on and off. The plumbing was either too cold or too hot and it was difficult to regulate faucet temperatures that constantly changed in the shower, sink areas and kitchen sink. The pools were nice but the beach area had debris and garbage on it every day. The rental hut for beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. was nice and helpful. For the amount of $$ we spent to stay here, it was not worth it. We will not stay again.

Amazing resort and even better was the price! If we go back to Maui, we will definitely stay here again.

Our stay at AEI Ka'anapali Shores exceeded our expectations. The 2 bedroom unit was spacious and had a stunning ocean view. Property was clean and staff were friendly. Both pools were excellent, but we especially enjoyed the lagoon pool. The beach fronting the resort was small, but there was a larger beach just steps to the left. Highly recommend going another mile south to Kahekili "airport" beach for the full Maui beach experience.

This is a very nice facility. Young couples , parents with children, and retired couples. All the children that we saw were well behaved. Our room though a bit dated was warm and comfortable/welcoming. The kitchen was nice.

It was in a great location relative to many activities to do! The grounds are beautiful with open areas, great for families!

Celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary this week, they gave us a bottle of wine at check in … view was amazing, however the unit wasn’t the best due to the Kona storm. Water got into the unit and soaked the bedroom floor and made it smell like mildew. The front desk was great, they offered to move us to another unit, however we would’ve gone from an ocean view to a parking lot view so decided to put up with the smell and damp floor. Maintenance came in and extracted the water from the carpet and had a dryer to dry out the room for a few days. The smell never went away but we really appreciated them attempting. The property overall was great - restaurants, grocery stores, shops, bakeries ( the famous Papi’s Ohana cinnamon rolls!), and food trucks are within walking distance. Whalers Village is close by - it’s walkable. Two big pools, with beach access. Would recommend!

Check weather, when they say storms , don’t go! We went when Kona hit and what a mess, everything was closed and you were lucky to find a place to eat. Mother Nature doesn’t play around. Everyone one there on Maui and Kannapali were very helpful, beautiful to go , just beware of stroms

Clean room with good kitchen. Suggest having staples like salt and pepper, coffee filters. Ocean view booking may be an obstructed view. The Checkin receptionist was helpful in getting us a better room, but I would keep this in mind when booking again. Pools are nice and well used. Need to replace some broken lawn chairs. Overall great stay.

The best part was the pools and hot tubs. We spent a lot of our time there. The restaurant outside had great breakfast, and the coffee in the rooms was also great. The customer service could have been better, but overall 3/5 stars. We loved how close it was to the food truck park and walking distance to grocery, ice cream, and coffee shops!
