The Sherton Hotel in Kagoshima was an absolute gem of a hotel! This is our first visit to Japan, and we are admittedly nervous about the language barrier and cultural change from the US. From the moment we checked in, the staff has bent over backwards to make sure we are comfortable and have done a fantastic job to make this stay completely comfortable and enjoyable. The location is perfect right at the center of downtown Kagoshima, and the rooms, restaurants, and common spaces have more in common with a Four Seasons than with what is standard Sheraton in the US. We were not able to take advantage of the spa, but the Onsen (Hot Springs Sauna) was so relaxing and rejuvenating — especially after 26 hours of flights to get here! HIGHLY recommended. Thank you to the staff that has helped make our 4 days in Kagoshima a memorable experience! Now off to Hiroshima!

Stayed 2 nights in end Jan 2023. Hotel is located directly across the Kagoshima Chuo Station which is convenient if you need to take the train early morning, or explore the other area, as the bus and tram line is nearby as well.  You can access the hotel via the round link from the station on the 2nd floor and cross a road at the end of the link or via the underground basement beside the shopping mall next to the station on level 1, completely sheltered. There is a nice food place at the basement of the hotel and a mart just beside the hotel on level 1. The reception is on the 7th floor where you can get toiletries like cleansing gel,  razor, comb, cotton bud, etc. Check in was fast and simple, though check in time is fixed at 3 pm.  Staff were friendly. Hotel is clean and well maintained.  Rooms were reasonably big for hotels in Japan. Bathroom have separate shower and tub area.  Good view of the ferries wheel across my room.  Bed was comfy, sleeping robe provided. Safe deposit box not working though. Wifi is reasonably good.  Would consider staying again if coming to this area.

Hotels in Japan are relatively luxurious and have ample space. If you go to the hot springs in the morning, you can even see the unparalleled sea view of Sakurajima. It is well worth the price. The space in the room is also very sufficient, and the facilities and supplies are complete. However, the only thing I can be picky about is The location of the hotel is very inconvenient. If you miss the bus to the city, it will be very inconvenient to travel between the hotel and the city.

2023年4月10日利用。 場所は鹿児島の繁華街でもある電停(路面電車)天文館の駅前で、バスの停車前にもありランドマーク的な存在だとも言えるかと思います。 確かに1階にはショッピングモールがあったり、最近のホテルという感じで、改装か新築された印象で館内は綺麗でした。 構造は7階がフロントで、8階から14階が客室。15階がレストランで朝飯もこちらになり、天気の良い日は桜島も見え、鹿児島らしい地元の料理が出た点では文句無いかと思います。 しかし減点となったのは以下の点 ●ホテルの車止めが無いところ 駐車場が少し離れたところにあるため荷物がある場合、どうしても車止めは必要かと思います。もう構造上仕方ないのですが、車で来た場合重い荷物を運ぶのにはやや辛いかなという印象を受けました。 ●提携駐車場がやや遠い チェックアウトの時晴れてる(雨天ではない場合)なら特段問題ないのですけど、雨が降っていたらややキツいかなと言う印象を受けました。 ●朝のレストラン 内容は問題ないのですが名物「鶏飯」(けいはん)目当てに来ている宿泊者が多いと思います。 しかし、補充が足りないというか出汁と米だけ残っており、具材補充の頻度が遅いかなという印象。 食材を大切にする気持ちは理解しますけど少し疑問が ●廊下の音響問題 たまたまなんですけど夜23時頃の話。 フロント階にタバコを吸いに行った時、廊下を歩いていると他の室内からですが中の音が聞こえて来たのには少し閉口してしまいました。 場所柄もあるのか解りませんが所謂オトナのお遊びの音なんですけど、防音はもう少し何とかして欲しいかなと感じました。 色々書きましたが、基本室内もレストランも綺麗ですし鹿児島では悪くないレベルのホテルかと思います。 確かに鹿児島では城山とかサンロイヤルが有名ですけど、便利性、値段を勘案するとこの先良いホテルになるのではないかと期待しております

I stayed 2 nights at thesunflex. The location is excellent with decent sized rooms and our deal included breakfast You can choose from 3 types. You will have to pay for parking i believe tobe 900 yen.not far from the hotel is an excellent bakery called sumomo whichhas tasty products which are 110 to 160 yen so fantastic prices. The staff are excellent and very helpful. Easy walk to the sakurajima ferry and many bars and restaurants within walking distance.

It is a business hotel located in the downtown Tenmonkan in Minami Kyushu, but it was only called ”Rem”, and I was able to sleep well as rarely for me to sleep until I was woken up by the alarm clock. The city trams and buses are running on the road right in front of me, but I didn't care about the noise at all. １ I had breakfast at the talis in the building because it was breakfast for the night, but it was quite well organized and substantial. It is a stay with GOTO children. The appearance is an old and small business hotel, but it was comfortable inside. We stayed at the zashiki. It is very good that the hot water pot is installed in a high place that the child can't reach, and the bathroom is surprisingly large. Also, when I arrived, I gave my child a little toy. After receiving it, if you had another color good, you would have come to the front desk quickly, and you would have a different color. It was very nice and really appreciated. Dongheng Hotel has always been the preferred hotel group for me to travel in Japan, reasonable price plus excellent location also appear in this hotel. The hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from Central Station, there are convenience stores nearby, there are shops across the road, There is also a food store on the street behind the store street. From there, I drove to Hotel ribmaxＢＵＤＧＥＴ Kagoshima. There was a three-dimensional parking lot at the back of the super center Nissimta, which was a designated parking lot. Nishimta is a very large discount store. I could buy dinner here, but I bought it in Lawson (sweat;) across the road and headed for ribmax. The lobby is like this. My grandmother checked in earlier, so I went to the elevator as it was. Coin laundry is installed. I expected it because there was a sign of a natural hot spring, but it was not a resort condominium advertisement (sweat);) when I asked if there was a microwave oven at the front desk, I replied, ”I'm in the room” (surprised) If it is true, I will praise you for choosing this hotel. This day is the room on the top floor. It seems to be an old type of room that doesn't light the electricity unless you insert the promised ”grandmother who doesn't open the key” key. ”Grandma who can't stab the key”There was a microwave oven. The TV is also large. Twin room. This is 5,335 yen for two people with surprise !! It seems that the timing was good with dynamic pricing. Hot water heater. Grandpa who mistakenly has a hot spring. The key is not stabbed clean and the electricity is not lit. The toilet is a hot water toilet seat. The bathtub feels like this. Shampoo and so on were bottles. I am currently staying here on my way to Yaku Island. After being here for awhile, I am already used to the quality of Japanese service and this place measures up to those standards. Though a bit long in the tooth, my small single room was clean, with wifi, frig, telebi, and quiet. The onsen was small but old style which I like and the water was hot enough and the facility clean. Towels were provided also. It was on the top level which was nice. The front desk folks were efficient and spoke adequate English to a non-Japanese speaking Japanese American. I asked for a non-smoking room when I booked and it was provided. It overlooks a beautiful Shinto shrine and a nice park is across the street. It is close to the Tenmonkan area with lots of restaurants and convenience stores. Pleasantly surprised and happy this worked out.

The public bath uses Fine Ten Water, and those with sensitive skin will feel the effects immediately. I also found Refa's shower head to be very comfortable to use, probably because the water pressure was higher than what I use at home. Use the hair dryer and your styling will look better than usual. Also, the room was equipped with a clothes deodorizer, and I was curious about this home appliance, so I was glad I was able to try it out.
