We booked this guest house for myself and my brother. The property was clean and very minimalistic, and everything appeared to be in order.
However, we ultimately decided not to stay the night. In the photos, the space looks bright and sunny, but in person it felt much darker and more enclosed than we expected. While nothing was technically wrong, the atmosphere felt a bit unsettling for us personally, and we weren’t comfortable staying overnight.
It was also quite cold during our visit (though it is winter in Japan). There was an air-conditioning unit with a heating setting, but the floors and overall space still felt very chilly. Additionally, our room was on the second floor with a narrow staircase, which made it difficult to carry and repack heavy luggage.
This may suit other travelers who are comfortable with compact, minimal guesthouses, but it wasn’t the right fit for us.
