Su Butik Hotel

Su Butik Hotel

Kalkan|0.88km from city center
The overall property is a gem, but is need of some foundational maintenance. The views from the various pools, the design of the rooms and the aesthetic of the restaurant are very nice. The grape vines and bougainvillea trees definitely have that ”Mediterranean” vibe. The bed is big with a nice red backlight to ”set the mood”. There is a great view of Kalkan with a veranda. That being said, the property is need of some foundational maintenance. The staff needs hospitality training. Aydin is not exactly the most inviting person. He pretty much asked for passport and payment, showed us the room with apathy. There are dogs (many not friendly) running around the property. The management is always hanging out in the communal lounge, and don't always greet you. It's weird. You feel like an uninvited guest in their house. It's not a ”hotel”. It's like an Airbnb with the host living next door, but not really in a helpful or reassuring way. No goodbye as we walk out of the hotel restaurant, but Aydin definitely asked for a review. And I'm giving one. For the first night we were there, the pool circulation was off. It wasn't until other guest arrived on our 2nd night that the pool circulate water. The first morning, we woke up to no electricity or water and if we didn't inquire I think it would have been business as usual. The 2nd and 3rd mornings, Aydin was trying to pressure us into ”sharing an omelette”. We just played the game the 1st time, but insisted on receiving our own individual omelette on the 3rd morning. It's little things like that lowers the rating of Su Butik.

Samira Exclusive Hotel & Apartments

Samira Exclusive Hotel & Apartments

Kalkan|0.14km from city center
We stayed for 11 days in early May and we were very pleased with the hotel. It's small, very clean and staffed by friendly and helpful people. I have been in 5 star hotels in the past which were not as good as The Samira Exclusive. Rooms were cleaned every day and towels were changed; the towels were very good quality, thick and fluffy and bering the hotel's insignia. The only not so good points are the WIFI, which can be temperamental and the breakfast which was underwhelming. Breakfast consisted of mainly cold salads, boiled eggs and two warm (never hot enough) dishes; these were usually chopped local sausages mixed with peppers, and potatoes or occasionally baked beans. If you wanted eggs cooked any other way it would cost extra, this seemed a little petty; the bread however was very good. We didn't eat there in the evenings but I understand from others that the quality of the menu at that time was very good. We had a late evening flight home and asked about the possibility of extending our check out by a few hours, this cost us £40, which I feel is quite steep. The hotel was quite empty when we arrived but began to fill up as the season progressed and I can see possible problems in the high season with queues in the restaurant which is small and finding beds around the pool. Of course we already saw people rising at cock crow to claim beds with their towels and often these beds were hardly used, this is something the hotel should clamp down on. There is no lift either so the hotel is only accessible to the able bodied. Kalkan itself is very impressive; it's extremely picturesque, surrounded by hills and peppered with small winding cobbled streets full of restaurants and art shops, no sign of the usual tourist 'tat'. It is very steep though and I wouldn't recommend it to disabled people or those with small children and push chairs. It is also very expensive, eating out cost us about the same as we would pay to eat out in the UK. People who were frequent visitors told us the prices has almost doubled in the last year or two since Covid. Would I recommend it? Definitely, and I would return to the Samira Exclusive but it would be nice to see the points I have raised being addressed.
Likya Residence Hotel and Spa

Likya Residence Hotel and Spa

Kalkan|0.84km from city center
We’ve stayed at The Likya on many occasions over the years and have commented previously that the place needed significant investment. Whilst there have been some changes since 2022 season, unfortunately they haven’t invested in the things that would have the most impact on the guests. There are three fantastic things about The Likya. The staff, who are second to none - particularly Muhammet’s team* on food and beverages and the receptionist - the food and the view. *A special shout out for Ummut, Hatice and Ozzie, who cannot do enough for you. The fabric of the building however, and general air of neglect, is becoming a major issue for people staying there and was a frequent source of discussion in the pool (when you really don’t have a great deal to talk about!) The changes made since last year are to improve the reception area, improve the breakfast area - and this actually is much better - and to replace the sun loungers, which were falling apart. Unfortunately the new ones are very flimsy and unlikely to last long. They have done nothing at all to the bedrooms, which have yet to see a lick of paint since our first visit in 2010. The gardens are overgrown and plant containers have dead and untended plants in them, clearly never being watered. What happened to the gardener? There is a general air of neglect about the pool area and parasols have been patched up on many occasions and look very sorry for themselves. I suspect that while the owner has handed over day-to-day management of the hotel to the previous manager, who is doing her best, there is insufficient funding available to actually do what needs to be done to get the hotel back to being a special place to stay in Kalkan. A last point, which has nothing to do with the state of the hotel: they really need to use plastic (or other non-breakable) glasses and crockery when people are having drinks at their sunloungers. Twice we witnessed cups and glasses being broken - people walk around barefoot and this is very dangerous. I doubt that we will return to The Likya, although we will go back to Kalkan. This is very sad because the staff are amazing, but it has fallen way behind on standards.

Hotel Matiana

A hotel beyond expectations. In the small town of Kalkan, facing the sea, spring blossoms! Originally planned to go to Kaputas beach to play in the water, I specially booked the small town of Kalkan, which is less than 10 minutes drive from Kaputas beach. As soon as I entered the small town of Kalkan by car, there was a viewing platform, and I was shocked by the charming scenery of the small town of Kalkan. Take pictures! The scenery of Kalkan is better than that of Kas Kas. The town is mainly composed of British tourists, playing in the water, going out to the sea, swimming, basking in the sun, flying umbrellas during the day, and gathering and carnival in the commercial dining streets of the town at night, which is very atmospheric. There are several dining streets, stone roads, and houses are very close to each other. It is quite interesting to sit on the street and experience Turkish cuisine and British culture. We went to the summer season, and the streets filled the streets with beautiful British and Turkish bikini beauties. The next day, I drove to Kaputas Blue Flag Beach to play in the water. It was very convenient. The beach also has shower and changing services, all free of charge, which is great! I saw a lot of Asian self-driving partners taking pictures on the cliff and drove away. Unfortunately, I still have to go down to Kaputas Beach to be interesting. The texture of the sea water is as magical as milk. Cash is too commercial. It is recommended to live in the small town of Kalkan. The hotel Matiana Hotel stayed at this time is the most humane hotel in Turkey during the 15-day trip. There is a swimming pool in the hotel and the water quality is excellent. On the roof terrace, you can watch the sunrise and sunset, enjoy the night view of Kalkan and the dim lights; outside the window of the room is the bay; the Mediterranean climate is magical, and the bathing suits dried at night are all dry the next day. Many villas around the hotel are sold to the British and wealthy Turkish people for regular holiday use. Flowers are blooming everywhere in the town. I am envious of seeing several villas adopting infinity swimming pools! The interior decoration and management of the hotel are very attentive, the decoration is exquisite and comfortable, and the breakfast is rich! An absolute five-star boutique hotel! highly recommended.

Samira Resort Hotel Aparts & Villas

Kalkan|0.39km from city center
I’m giving The Samira five stars, yes the hotel is a bit dated but it’s by no means bad at all. I’ve been to so many places in Turkey now and Kalkan has my heart. I love the Samira, mainly due to the staff, they work so hard and are so pleasant and friendly. I want to say a personal Thank-you to Niyazi, he’s the bar manager and he is just a lovely guy and nothing is too much trouble for him. The owner doesn’t realise how lucky he is to have such good staff. I witnessed a few times him coming down and appearing to be on the staffs backs all the time. We didn’t get our suitcases until two days into our holiday. This being due to Easy Jet and their lack of competence. The way the staff helped us was just lovely, from Kevin the reception guy at night and to the lovely lady who was on reception throughout the day. So helpful, especially as my daughter and I were getting upset due to EJ not really caring about the cases at all. So yes, the hotel may be a little dated but my goodness! The staff make up for it. So thank you to all of you for being the people you are. The Samira is a home from home to me, it felt like I’d known the staff for ages. We’ve been twice now and will be going again next year. To the owner! Appreciative your staff! Niyazi especially! His English is so good and his personality and caring manner matches it. Maybe update your rooms a bit but please never change your staff! It’s those hardworking people who make the place it is. Be good to your staff…and they will be good to you. Something for the owner to think about.

If you are searching for serenity and just want to chill and relax, then Likya Gardens Hotel is the best place for you. Both as a couple and solo. My priorities when searching for a hotell was that it should be quite and calm so I could just rest and get positive energy. Lucky me I found Likya Gardens. First time in both Kalkan and Likya Gardens. And I can say that it was more than I imagined. A place where you can rest both your mind and body. I booked the terrace suit and WOW you can see whole Kalkan from your terrace, which is amazing! It has a jacuzzi which was very very pleasant, both in the day and at the evening. I took a bath in the night under the stars and that was a wonderful experience. The hotell is a walk away from the city, approx 15 min. But with taxi it only takes 5 min. The sea is clear and just amazing. You can just sit and enjoy a good book next to the sea and listen to the waves or take a wonderful swim. The cleaning of the rooms are superb! Everything is very clean. The breakfast and lunch are served in the beach club right at the beach. The breakfast is a buffe breakfast and has everything you need! It’s very fresh and tastes delicious. They also serve you omelett or menemen.. my favorite. Had the chance to try their lunch a few times and it is amazing too. The staff are amazing! Thanks to Can, Burak, Hasan, Kaan, Ugur the chef and cleaning abla. But the shining stars are Can who was very helpful, Emir who always smiles his biggest and makes your day and last but not least the sweet cat Melo..

Duplex House with Shared Pool Near Beach in Kalkan

Kalkan|0.2km from Halı Saha
In August, we made a quiet and quiet 5-day holiday in a quiet family environment, including 2 adults and 2 children. The underground front door was opened directly to the pool and everything was thought from the house lounge, the champagne, the bleeding tea to the washing detergent. The house and the site, the pool were very good for cleaning/hygiene. Although there were little shortages of the reserve, we were very happy in general with our reservation for the first time by Trip.com. The customer service has tried to be an instant assist in everything. The house is very close to the centre, markets, oven, marina and sea. And if we were to bear some disorder, Although we were there for check-in at 15.00, cleaning continued for about 1 hour, 5 housekeats were welcomed in front of the house, no house-friendly for those who are allergic or fear animals and a few tables. The door outside was in the thermophone box to feed. The opening window of the outsider was not hanging, and there was no place to hang, and there could be problems with the privacy of those who stay under the floor. We haven't worked on the internet and TV during our holiday. There may be problems for those who want to work during the holiday. Customer services have been told that we should upload a package of internet to our mobile phone and the company will pay the package fee. Finally, there is no closet to put the clothes on the lower floor, you must use the top floor. We had a very pleasant holiday in general.

I could have rated this place 10 stars, honestly the staff are amazingly welcoming and warm. They make you feel home, make sure you're comfortable and always there smiling and ready to fulfill your requests. Rooms are spacious, loads of drawers and wardrobes, soooo clean and neat, view to the beach from balcony and view to a mail card landscape from the 5th floor where the buffet breakfast is served. The food is tasty, varied and the hygiene overall is top. You gonna enjoy showering and the air conditioner is turning off automatically when you open the balcony. I'm spending a week and I'm still there at the minute and wanna try their spa that looks great. Few of them only speak a very good English, however the barrier language was invisible because all members of staff, every single one I met was communicating with me in any way possible to socialise and that was the cherry on top. Also the hotel is close to the beach, close to my favourite restaurant and others and the market every Thursday just nearby 🤍

In addition to the hot water faucet in the room I live in, there is a problem (the shower head of the direct hot water heater is gone, the shower that centrally supplies hot water in the wall is not hot for 20 minutes, I want to twist it down and receive the direct hot type without a wrench. I don’t know if other rooms are like this. Finally, I can use my palms to splash water on the hot water exit of the direct-heat electric water heater. There is nothing wrong with the others. Breakfast in the morning tastes good and the scenery on the beach is good, so check the hot water before check-in. I can't ask for a room change immediately to avoid stepping on the pit.

My first experience in hamam was quite interesting, relaxing, and satisfying. First of all, I applaud the amiability of the hosts who introduced me to the concept and were kind to guide me through the leaflet. I chose an Aroma Therapy Package which consisted of hamam part, whole body massage with oils I selected, a clay mask, and finally the hair treatment. I might be lucky since the season hasn't started and it was quite peaceful and relaxed all the while I was there. Inside of the Turkish bath, I got scrubbed and cleaned with soap, my hair was washed too, and after that part was done, I got a short but long enough toilet break and snack break (fruits and juice was provided). The next part took place in the massage room where I got my full body aromatherapy massage, my face mask and hair oil applied. I was provided with all the things I needed to get from one room to the other, I had my key with me, and the lady who bathed me and gave me a massage took care that I don't lose it out of sight. As of recently it's possible to pay by card. The place is clean and smells great and the hosts and staff are really pleasant to interact and work with 😊
