Hilton Garden Inn Athens Syggrou Avenue

We arrived one day late due to war in the Middle East. I reached out before check in time to cancel or provide a voucher by email. No response! Next day we arrived and they refused to accommodate us. Luckily trip.com solved our problem however the hotel staff were not able to provide any relief. We didn’t stay at this hotel however due to the experience I provided low rate.

Overall, the hotel is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. However, our room had several significant issues. The bed, which is one of the most important aspects of a stay, was uncomfortable - the mattress was too firm, and the pillows were flat. Duck feather pillows were provided, but they had a strong odor and appeared unclean, which could pose health risks. Additionally, there was visible mold in the room, which is concerning for respiratory health. A 4-star hotel should meet basic standards of comfort and hygiene.

Only booked this place on reviews and was sadly mistaken. It would be classified as a budget hotel. The room felt like you were in a large bathroom. On day 3 of stay they decided no one could use pool or restaurant because they had taken a large booking so it was closed to all guests. Staff upstairs serve you when they felt like it and majority were rude but not all. Spent day out sightseeing to come back at night to find room hadn’t been serviced again. When brought to their attention they said they had till 10pm to service it.

was good enough and worth

The hotel is very nice although the location is less than ideal. It is on a highway. My wife enjoyed the giraffe in the entrance.

We are happy with the stay. Good view from hotel rooftop restaurant and food is not bad. Bed and pillows were comfortable to sleep in.
