Good location with only a couple of minutes drive over the bridge to Öland. Friendly staff. No AC in the rooms so can be hot in the summer and noisy if you open the window due to the high traffic on the highway which goes just outside. Very dogfriendly hotell with dogs allowed in certain areas even at the breakfast. Good walking area just outside for you and your dog. Comparing price with renting a cabin at Öland we found the prices similar so stayed at the hotell and took the car over the bridge instead. Will definitly stay here again if / when we revisit Öland

Free room upgrade for our friends but not for us - same price for a pared-down room with no hot water for coffee or tea, only one chair and no bath mat in the bathroom. Not the standard we expect at Scandic.

A very nice stay and the friendliest hotel for pets. Nice yard and welcome package for the fur balls which included bowls, dog sheets and towel, snacks, room on ground floor. Breakfast was nice and included lots of vegetarian options

We choosed this hotel becasue the others was double so expensive but even this was overpriced for what we got. This is far from centrum so nothing to see near by and food expensive for the quality but if you dont have other place to stay then ok for one nigth staying

We stayed at the hotel for two days. The room was okay but the hotel admin is least bothered about cleanliness. There were flies at the breakfast buffet on both the days that were sitting on the food items. This is a basic hygiene factor that should be given the highest priority.

The service in reception is bellow decent standard. Asked for a European charger to my cell phone, but could not get help me to solve my issue. They cant even call for a taxi. No restaurant service at evening.

Scandic Kalmar West is good located cool & calm, not far from city, suited for those travellers who would like to spend a couple of nights to explore Kalmar and continue their journey by car ahead. In sort park, chill & keep going!

Good: The hotel was a great value in a great location. the staff was very polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable. We were able to enjoy the swimming pool and sauna facilities as well which were warm and clean. Free parking is always a plus. The breakfast was plentiful and absolutely delicious. Bad: The family room was very very small. Once the bunk beds were down, there was hardly any standing room. We had dinner at the hotel and although the food was very good. Service was very slow. They were short staffed that night with only one cook and one waitress and they could not keep up.
