Felix River Kwai Resort Kanchanaburi

Great place to enjoy the nature and peqcw of mind. Relax, calm and nice place for staycation.

I stayed here during a business trip to Kanchanaburi. The hotel is very functional, with a convenient location that made getting around easy. The staff were attentive, and throughout my stay.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good. All facilities were very clean and maids very thoroughly tidied up rooms each day as well as changing the pillowcase.

Booked the Felix resort for a quick trip out of Bangkok and it was so peaceful. Alighting the train from Bangkok I wandered around the little town. 7-11 and Rainforest cafe are right there. Then walked across the bridge to the hotel. Be warned it's not far but in hotter weather it may be best to take a cab. Anyway the hotel, is stunning the entrance is grand, the foyer is stunning and then you walk through the gardens to the rooms. The pool is out of this world, lush gardens around it and after the noise of Bangkok it's an oasis of calm. The room (I paid for a river view, which was kind of there but blocked by trees) was again out of this world, with a huge (hard) bed, loads of space, and massive bathroom. Downside TV didn't work, but I only wanted it on whilst getting ready to go out. I only had breakfast there so can't comment on evening meals. Breakfast was ok, as a vegan options were limited but the coffee was good and juice was cold. Staff were great and so polite (like most of Thailand) and the drinks by the pool were pretty cheap. All in all I would definitely go again to get away from the city.

Very clean, beautiful resort. Helpful staff.  Breakfast was nice. For diner we ordered the fried chicken however the taste was blend.

Hotel was quite old and worn down. Went to the pool to have a beer and they didn’t have ice or beer coolers to put the beer in. Poolside was very limited with sun beds considering the size of the hotel. The room was clean but the shower was deadly, seriously you could cook pasta in that water. No way to control the water temperature as it went from boiling to cold without warning. Someone could get seriously burnt by the shower! Breakfast was mainly Asian with vegetables, rice and other Asian dishes. European choice was very limited with toast, omelettes and ham, so not much to choose from.

I guess this hotel was built in the 90s- great location and breakfast. Big rooms and on the river, fantastic pool for kids
