Luxury stay nestled in the hills of Kandy. The room was excellent - the service, both at the room and dining - was impeccable. Subtler nuances - extra water in the room, cleaning of the bathroom without being asked to do so, excellent quality of the extra bed - absolutely top notch. The food was delicious. Scratching my head to dig out improvement areas - perhaps the pool ladder could be a little less 'loose', one of the blinds in the room was 'slipping' when pulled, the shaving razor/creamer were not replaced once... In all, an absolutely no brainer - go get pampered!

A very easy place to be with wonderful Sri Lankan hospitality. Our room was amazing and super comfortable with lots of space and amazing views of the trees and the monkeys were very entertaining. The food was great! The Sri Lankan curry was delicious and huge!

We are a family of six with four kids aged 8, 10, 12 and 14 and traveled Sri Lanka for 13 days. The Kings Pavillion was our third hotel - and, unfortunately, the least excellent one during our holidays. The service was fine and friendly but not as welcoming and heartful as in other destinations. One morning, we had a really tight timing and let every one know in advance so the staff could prepare (we wanted to pre-order which we were told was not necessary). When we arrived at 7 am for breakfast as announced - no one was there and it took another 15 minutes before we could finally start breakfast. We had two junior suites; they were perfectly clean and we really liked the animal towel contructions! :-) However, there was only one small cupboard in our room with no room for hanging longer clothes, like dresses. The food was good but not exceptional - small surprise: butter and jam for breakfast were single-packed products. We did expect more in a 5 star hotel (which was confirmed by what we got in other places we stayed).

We had an amazing 3 nights here. The food was excellent, notably the Sri Lankan omelette at breakfast and the Sri Lankan curries at dinner. Service was attentive without being overwhelming. And for an early trip, they gave us the biggest packed breakfast I have ever seen, all sorted with card packaging - well done on the sustainability side! The room was immaculate, with fun touches like animals made out of towels laid out on the turned-down bed. The pool was great and the gardens were lovely - a really calming place to rest after our tours.

We spent one night at Kings Pavillion as a 2-week-tour of Sri Lanka. This is a lovely boutique hotel, a kind of oasis in the middle of Kandy. Contrary to some other hotels we stayed ar during our trip, the staff is demonstrating a strong service DNA, in a very genuine and kind way. Our experience with the restaurant was very good, the room was lovely and their garden with the pool was heaven. In short, a very nice spot for discovering Kandy and relaxing after a day of visit. We loved it.

The food, service and ambience are perfect. A fabulous place to stay whilst visiting Kandy. An oasis of calmness yet only 10 minutes from the centre. Beautifully appointed rooms where they have thought of every comfort. Would thoroughly recommend.

The Kings Pavilion is a fantastic hotel in a prime location tucked away high up above Kandy. The gardens and views were beautiful. Pool area seating a little limited but then again the pool isn't huge but is in an unenviable position overlooking part of the valley Would recommend going here although so pleased we had a driver as the roads are steep with large water gulleys either side. Staff lovely, rooms excellent but if I had one gripe , Expensive food and very expensive wine . The Sri Lankan curries are just wonderful. Would recommend Lion beer and water!

This charming boutique hotel is in the hills above the hustle and bustle of Kandy. The staff treats you like royalty and makes you feel like you are the most important guest they have ever had. The rooms are lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great! While sitting on our balcony we felt like we were in a tree house - and in the morning we sipped our coffee watching monkeys jump and play! The food at the restaurant was delicious and the setting of the restaurant was beautiful. Here is how good the staff is - after checking out our guide got a call that they found my husband’s swimsuit in the bathroom. (He had enjoyed a dip in the stunning negative edge pool earlier) A staff member jumped on a bike and delivered it to our van (we had left the hotel a few minutes earlier) Having a driver made this a fantastic place to stay. It is up a narrow windy road - so if you are traveling on your own just be aware of the trek up the hill from Kandy. In my opinion -it would be totally worth it.

Beautiful hotel, room was well presented, spectacular views from infinity pool. Staff very attentive and polite. The food was very good, but felt food and wine was expensive. Would love to have stayed longer. Small intimate hotel just what we like
