Because of the yellow duck, I stayed at the Hanshen Hotel in Kaohsiung. As soon as I entered the hotel, I was greeted by the scent of flowers and the fragrance was everywhere. For this family trip, the two adults and one child were arranged in a side room on the high floor. The night city view was beautiful. The room was clean and very comfortable to sleep on! The housekeeping staff you meet in the corridor will also smile and say hello, which makes you feel friendly. The welcome fruit in the room is great!

We booked a triple room in the middle floor of the building, located on the seventh floor. We originally booked a sofa-bed version, but were later upgraded to have three beds upstairs. This room type has a bathtub~ Reasons for recommendation (1) The lighting and decoration are very comfortable, highly recommended. (2) The location is super good. You can see the signboard right after you come out of Kaohsiung Railway Station, which is closer than Kangqiao Hotel. (3) There are snacks in the afternoon, including three kinds of biscuits, orange juice, American coffee, and tea bags. Not much, but the venue is comfortable and the biscuits are delicious. (Breakfast at the same venue) (4) The price is very good, and the non-refundable plan has a very favorable price. (5) There is a parking lot (6) There is a laundry room. Laundry is free. There is washing powder, but drying requires a fee. (7) There is a bathtub and a flush toilet. The hot water in the bathroom comes quickly and hot, and the water is large. It is very comfortable to wash. I went up the mountain to collect herbs for washing and bathing, and I also gave her hair lotion. (8) The cups and the soap dish on the sink are made of plastic, so you can give your children a bath without worrying about breaking them. (9) The curtains are thick and have perfect shading effect breakfast shortcoming (1) There is only one elevator, so it’s a bit difficult to wait. Book the hotel for a last-minute travel. Stayed in this hotel for 8 days. I think for the price the hotel is clean. Here are some breakdowns: Room: The room and the hotel are a little dated, but its acceptable. I think it will work for backpakers. The vent in my room came off a little. The maintenance team should pay attention to things like this. The room I booked does not have a window. Luckily, I'm not in the room most of the time. Recommendation to people if you are interested in this hotel, make sure to book the room with a window. Also, the room I stayed in is small. You need to close up you luggage otherwise you won't have space to walk. Cleanses: The cleanese is within acceptable range for a hotel like this. However, I think the carpet in the room is old and dirty. Management should really consider replacing the carpets. A newer carper can bring the cleanness of the room up one level. The room also has some minor mildew smell when you enter the room. In fact, some parts of the hotel also have minor mildew smells. Management should really figure out how to remove the mildew smell. The mildew smell goes a way if you increase the AC, but then the room becomes too cold. The mildew smell is also reported by some of the reviews. Comfortable: The mattress and pillow are ok. Each bed comes with 2 pillows instead of 4. I have decent sleep on it. Amenities: The hotel comes with two bottles of water everyday. House keeping will provide it daily if you have house keeping. Hotel provides reusable sleepers for bathroom and for use in the room. These are not disposable sleepers. They are reusable. They look very old school and I'm not sure how clean they are. So, I dont use them. I understand its a budget hotel, but it would be really great if they provided disposable sleepers. Also, there is no hand soap in the bathroom. You would think that after the pandemic, washing hand should become an important part of life but hand soap is not provided. I went to one of the local shops here to buy myself a bottle of hand soap. The shower drain is also a little clogged. There is a small poddle of water while showering. I read similar issues in other reviews. Breakfast: The breakfast is ok for the price of the room. Some of the reviews said that the breakfast was better before. Honestly, with inflation, all cost have gone up. I think the selection of breakfast is good for the price of hotel. I think overall the hotel is ok. If you are traveling alone and are under a budget, I think this hotel can be one of the choices.

The location and service are great. When the new Kaohsiung station is finally ready, this hotel will become an even better option. The room design is on the older (or vintage) side. My neighbours are a wee bit rough, as I could hear their doors slam shut really loudly They were also smoking (I'm not sure if their room allowed it), and I could smell it in my room. That was the only bad part, as everything else was great. There is ample space for two people to sort their luggage out individually. The shower in the bath was a little bit awkward because we just wanted to shower and not take a bath, yet if we stood, the water would go everywhere, even with the curtain. This was awkward—not bad, but just awkward (haha). The breakfast was alright, as it's a combo of traditional ********* breakfast fare (noodles or porridge with accoutrements) and westernized breakfast fare of toast and salad.

Awesome location - very nearby to Kaohsiung main train station. Room size is large with comfortable beds. Toilet is also practical and spacious enough. Tip-top room cleanliness, though daily housekeeping services are not included. Receptionists were very helpful and courteous - our request for taxi booking was swiftly and effectively attended to. Breakfast was included, average but decent with a good enough spread. Highly recommended stay - definitely deserves a 5-star review. Keep up the good work!

this hotel location is just about 5mins walk from the Kaohsiung train station, it's a good location if you take a train ride from the east coast to Kaohsiung. the front counter staff was good, except for a staff name, Eve, she's not suitable at the front line counter as she's not manner to the guests when asked for assistance, she didn't look at your to answer, yet show a long face when we need the assistance. the breakfast was good but more oriental food, no fruits were provided during the last stay, as the waiter mentioned that all were finished, no replacement at about 8.15am. overall the hotel was fine for few days stay and good price too, thank you

Home and business travel is located on Jiuru 2 Road behind Kaohsiung Station. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the MRT station or Taiwan Railway Station. It is a bit inconvenient to take the MRT to Kaohsiung. It takes a long time to get in and out. If the distance is not too far, for example, to the north of the Sanduo business district, there is a You-bike station in the park behind the hotel, and renting a bicycle is faster than taking the MRT. There are no convenience stores on Jiuru 2 Road next to the hotel, and there are no restaurants and snack bars. You have to walk a short distance. The hotel rooms are simple in decoration and cleanliness. Unfortunately, there are no sockets on both sides of the bed, only the wall on the side of the desk can be charged. Breakfast is mainly Chinese meals and the taste is OK.

Hotel staff were very friendly and check in was a breeze. We managed to get two rooms side by side which is a plus point. Every floor has a water dispenser which is very useful if we need hot water. There is a laundry room on the third floor with free washing powder to use. Breakfast buffet on the second floor was really great, my family loves the variety of the food provided and everyday some of the items will be changed too. Hotel is located in between Kaohsiung station and Formosa Boulevard station. Currently there are renovation going on at Kaohsiung station which cause a slight detour if we were to walk over there. Walking time are both around 10mins. Overall we are really satisfied with the stay.

There is a strong smell of smoke after entering the room. It should be the last visitor who stole cigarettes in the room. Fortunately, the service staff finally changed the room to us. But I hope that next time I clean it, I will find smoke. First open the door and clean the air to the smokeless smell. Use by tenants, especially if it is indicated that bringing ”baby” second/third-hand smoke is very harmful to infants.

It was nice that it was close to both Kaohsiung and Meridao stations. Also, the bed was fluffy and comfortable. It was great to have a bath and sauna, but since Taiwan doesn't have a bath culture, there was no changing room, so the shower room and bathtub were in one room, so I had to change clothes there. Fortunately, there was something like a small locker so my belongings didn't get wet. Although the layout of the room was confusing, overall it was a good hotel because the fatigue of the trip changes depending on whether you get soaked in hot water or not. It also came with a bath towel and pajamas, and the pajamas were very light and comfortable.
