The Mora Zanzibar

While the facilities and services were generally satisfactory, there were quite a few disappointing aspects during the off-peak season. The buffet selection wasn't as varied as it would be during peak season, and restaurant options were limited. Overall, the staff were friendly and helpful, which was great. However, two different staff members overlooked an issue they had promised to resolve, which was frustrating for a 5-star all-inclusive hotel.

After a safari, we spent a few days relaxing in Zanzibar, and this hotel definitely has its pros and cons. Pros: 1. All-inclusive package. You can pretty much eat at any of the 4 restaurants and 5 bars. There's also a free gelato shop and the minibar is complimentary. 2. The food is decent. Jua Grill is highly recommended, the food there is excellent. Unfortunately, when we wanted to order lobster for a second round, it was already sold out. The Asian buffet and the à la carte options at the main restaurant are also good. 3. The ocean water is fantastic, and you can see the private island across the way. Cons: 1. The staff's service attitude is inconsistent; some are great, while others... not so much. 2. Although the hotel has a private beach, it's a popular spot for dolphin tours. This means there are a lot of beach boys trying to sell things on the sand, which isn't ideal for introverts like me. 3. I'm not sure if it's because it's by the sea, but the bedding always seemed to have a faint smell.

The room was excellent, and the evening show was absolutely amazing! Facilities: There are 4 restaurants, including an Asian one, so there's plenty of choice. Environment: The hotel is quite new, with 6 pools of varying sizes. The beach is beautiful, and you can go directly from there to see dolphins.

The location and recreational facilities here are excellent. The staff are also generally friendly. However, there's a cultural difference that's worth noting: the local 'pole pole' (slowly, slowly) and 'hakuna matata' (no worries) mindset can clash a bit with the 'ppalli ppalli' (hurry up) tendency of Koreans. Haha. But if you experience it, you'll realize there's no ill intent, so as a traveler, it's best to just relax and go with the flow. I mention this because I had a bewildering experience where I booked through Trip.com, but upon arrival, the resort told me there was no reservation. In the end, I spoke with a Trip.com agent, and the issue was resolved well. I'm not sure of the exact cause, but it seemed like a booking system problem. I don't think it was solely Trip.com's fault; I suspect there might have been a system issue on the resort's side as well. The resort staff working that day did their best (honestly, there wasn't much they could do; it was evening, and they even showed me on the monitor that there was no reservation). Luckily, there was a room available, so I was able to book the same room on the spot. As soon as the payment went through, it seemed to appear immediately in the resort's booking system, and they gave me the confirmation. Haha. I was so tired, humid, and mosquito-bitten after flying in from Serengeti and arriving in the evening... it was tough. Haha. I'm so glad it was resolved; I don't even want to think about what would have happened if there were no rooms left. Make sure to send a reservation confirmation email to the resort and get it confirmed. On the way, I saw a Google review from another Korean who experienced the exact same thing and left an angry review. They booked through Agoda, and I booked through Trip.com, so I believed I wouldn't have this issue. That's because I've never had such a problem in the several years I've been booking through Trip.com. Yes. So, definitely send a reservation confirmation email directly to the resort and get it confirmed! The facilities are clean, convenient, and really great. For this price, I think it's excellent. And having a dive center attached is very convenient. The boat for the dolphin tour was really nice. Lolololol. Our boat was the best. Of course, it was more expensive. And I loved having unlimited drinks at the bar every day. I want to go again. It looked like they were building another resort next door, haha. I hope this review is helpful to everyone.

Wonderful hotel, I really enjoyed everything: the food, staff, cleanliness - all top-notch. However, be prepared for low tides.
