Hilton Garden Inn Kauai Wailua Bay, HI

Note that in addition to the hotel fee, there is an additional resort fee of $26 per day. This fee is not included in the room rate. The customer service said that it was stated in the order. I repeatedly checked and couldn't find it. Parking is free and there is no entertainment at night.

I booked 2 King rooms we asked for early check in, they couldn’t do that because they had been booked up the night before . We came back at 3:00 (which was their check in time) we could only get 1 of the king rooms at that time. She offered us a Double room at that point. I ask when the other king would be ready she said it might be ready around 5 (2 hrs after check in). We had to be ready for a Luau we had booked by 5 so we took the Double room . I asked about a discount for not getting the room we booked ahead for and was told no the the double room rate is more. The rooms are outdated, they look like they start to remodel some but didn’t finish (THE ONLINE PICTURES ARE VERY DECEIVING) . As far as the cleanliness of the rooms that was a laugh for BOTH ROOMS. There is a sigh to take your shoes off it is the Hawaiian way, that’s was another laugh our bare feet never touched the floor. I had to Lysol the bathroom down just to feel somewhat clean. I am sure that it was not COVID cleaned. Oh and the Air Conditioning was a window unit with a make shift vent to the bedroom from the living room in one room and the other room had 2 wall units. (They did work pretty good) One good thing is the fans work well. We did ask for a late check out due to having a late flight home and once again was told they couldn’t because they were booked up again. Then they called and gave us an extra 30 minutes. I find it interesting that most of the most of the rooms looked empty the whole time we were there. VERY DISAPPOINTED

Breakfast: capsule coffee, whole wheat slices and white bread slices (with toaster), apple (whole skin), 1% low fat milk (ice, microwave oven next to capsule coffee machine), orange juice (concentrated orange juice with water) That kind, it is pure, but not nfc craft), grape sauce, butter, a dozen kinds of cereal. The hotel is very environmentally friendly and the tableware is degradable and disposable, so pack it yourself. No extra beds, children, parking, morning yoga classes from 6:30 to 7:30, yoga mats available in the room. The toiletries provided by the hotel are all lemongrass-like. There is no air conditioning. They are big fans, but the lovely island does not need air conditioning. It is very cool. It will be lit by the pool from 6pm to 10pm. There is a bull shed steakhouse in the hotel worth trying. There is a food land, safeway supermarket, there is a gas station at McDonald's, the traffic is simply not too convenient. The kenji burger at the intersection is a patties made with Hawaiian grass-fed beef. It is a family business. Can you eat the boss's mood?

Good access: 10 to 15 minutes drive from the airport. Good for convenience: There were several malls nearby and restaurants, markets and shopping centers were close. Car parking: Overall good, but there is no space after 9pm so you have to use the valet service or walk along the street. Overall, the facilities and location were too good for the price. A hotel that impressed us as a honeycomb.

We stayed in condo 112. I am starting with the Pros..The location was perfect had a beautiful view. The pool and grounds were very nice and well kept. Although the pool could use a little bit of repair and cleaning, there was some what looked like black mold on the grout in the pool, it was very clean overall. The staff at the desk and maintenance people were wonderful, Carey was very quick at handling any issues we had. Now Cons... I had researched ALOT and thought i picked one with a couch that looked relatively comfortable. I am aware of couches that are rattan and also a hide a bed but i guess i will have to be more attentive next time. The matching chairs were not comfortable either. My husband and i have back/leg issues so this was not acceptable. The bed was somewhat comfortable as they had added a foam pad and extra mattress pad. The sliding glass door was very hard to open. The louvered window on one side would not open. The side window louvered windows had pull up wooden curtains, one was broken and you could hardly get it up. The one in the kitchen window was not there, you could see holes where one might have been. We were along a main walkway so people could see in at all times. The one curtains in the bedroom was also broken the backing was shredded hanging down. The unit was relatively clean although the glass shelving inside the door was dirty. The toaster oven looked very worn.. The rug has some stains behind chairs to the left as you walk in. Wish was tile.

I loved my stay here! I rented an ocean-facing, ground floor room and was not disappointed. The sunrise every morning was superb! Everything was close by, food/restaurant options were plenty, and there is a nice long walking path along the ocean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It's hard to rate the ”service” since I was only there for 3 days (they don't clean the rooms unless you stay for 5).
