Loved our stay at Waldo Emerson. Our host Amelia was so lovely to chat with. The breakfast was AMAZING and the bed was so comfy we slept the best we had our whole trip. We loved the cute and thoughtful decor, and the history (the oldest home in Kennebunk!) The water pressure was fantastic and it was easy to find and park. The attention to detail was so appreciated including the most interesting presentation of the toilet paper roll. You'll have to see it to know what I mean.

I planned our anniversary escape as we’ve never been to the Kennebunk / Kennebunkport area. An historic inn that is very well maintained - we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Lyman room which had a king bed, two comfortable chairs, and a bathroom. Second floor at the top of the main staircase; easy to come & go. For me, an early riser, it is the gorgeous common rooms that I enjoyed the most! An elegant “parlor”, and the room guests first enter from the parking lot. Both mornings, I quietly came down & got to explore the details of the tiled fireplaces, book titles, and colonial details like the crown molding and paneled doors. A lovely delicious breakfast is served 8:30 - 9:30 am each morning. Savory or sweet - we felt spoiled by the hospitality!! Clean rooms throughout the inn, ample parking, lovely garden & back yard. A serene escape, but close enough to Kennebunkport. Thank you!

Classic authentic architectural style of late 1800 /early 1900 NE home. Comfortable BnB. Rooms have a window AC which keeps it cool enough, but room feels a little clammy. Coffee available in the hall. An ‘honor system’ wine fridge (just write down what you take and pay when u check out). They have an outdoor fire from 8-10pm with s’mores kits if u like. The breakfast is served between 8:30 and 9:30. It is high quality and delicious. There are 2 tables to hold 6 people each to meet the other guests while eating. Amelia is a gracious host and accommodating. The BnB has beach chairs and umbrella available to borrow and use at the beaches. Great stay.

Charming inn with clean and cozy rooms. Lots of amenities. Amelia was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The inn is a pleasant walk from downtown where you will find lots of shops and restaurants. I can’t wait to go back.

It was a comfortable room. I slept like a log both nights, and we had two good breakfasts to start the day. The bacon at breakfast was perfect, and my wife even asked how it was prepared. The coffee was a tad weak for my taste, and I realize you can't have everything. The staff was friendly and engaging. The owner hates messy floors, and I do as well.

This wonderful inn was such a pleasant surprise. It is located on a beautiful piece of property right off the road in Kennebunk, which is just down the road from Kennebunkport…two wonderful must-see Maine towns. I best describe the Waldo Emerson Inn as charming, welcoming, comfortable, and clean. Our room (“Bourne”) had a queen bed and was beautifully decorated…but not stuffed with antiques like is sometimes found in similar types of inns. Though the bathroom was a bit tight, it was modern and extremely clean. Our room also had a separate window AC unit which kept it nice in cool during an unusually warm evening. From our names written on our room door (in chalk) to the wonderful conversations with the staff, we really appreciated the personal touch provided to the guests. Finally, our delicious (and filling) breakfast (parfait, French toast, bacon, coffee and orange juice) was one of the high points of our short visit. The only unfortunate part of our visit is that we only stayed one night as we had to fly home the following day. We highly recommend the Waldo Emerson Inn and certainly plan to return next time we’re in the area. we were

My husband and I were looking for a long weekend getaway to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and this place was great! They had a chilled bottle of wine waiting in our room, they provided local restaurant suggestions so we could make reservations ahead of time, and (my favorite part), when we had to leave early in the morning on the last day (this missing their delicious breakfast food), they made us a to-go breakfast bag: a yogurt parfait, clementines, and some biscotti. Great service!

The inn was charming and very comfortable. Owners were out of town and we were disappointed in the quality of food. Warm cookies in afternoon were thoughtful but appeared to be grocery store slice and bake. Breakfast both days was abysmal. Avocado toast on hard (perhaps stale) bread one day and barely warm pancakes second day. After visiting 4 different b & b's while in Maine, this place was a let down especially for the fee they charged.

Lovely, cozy 1700s shipbuilder's home. Fireplaced bedroom and pet friendly. Quaint and charming decor. Scrumptious breakfast and gracious hospitality. February 2024 stay. Looking forward to a return visit in warmer weather. Thank you so much.

We stayed the first weekend of November of 2023: Amelia and Ron are new innkeepers and very nice kind people who place emphasis on their guests and their new thriving business. The most important part of our stay at their lovely hotel is the love and joy Amelia and Ron aspire to make all feel welcome, happy, and comfortable. We wish you the best and hope to see you next summer, many thanks, your friends from the Austrian Alps! Hannah, Christoph & Chester
Response from Property: We so enjoyed meeting you and having you family/friends stay with us!! We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you can return soon. Maybe we will see you in Austria!!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at The Waldo Emerson Inn. Ron and Amelia, the owners of the inn, were so warm and welcoming; we enjoyed visiting with them! The homemade breakfasts were delicious! Breakfast was yogurt with granola and fresh blueberries followed by scrambled eggs, bacon and French toast, orange juice and coffee! Our room, Ralph’s Library, was beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable with luxury sheets and pillows. Refreshments, such as coffee, cold drinks, candy, and chocolate chip cookies were always available. If we ever visit Kennebunk again, we will stay here!
Response from Property: We really enjoyed having you stay with us!! Thank you for the kind words. Hope to see you again soon!

I reserved a FULLY REFUNDABLE room for summer 2024 through **********. I cancelled less than one day later, (change of plans), still 9 months before the reservation date. The hotel refunded all but $50 of my payment and refused to refund the rest, despite their advertisement on **********. It took several phone calls and finally a dispute through my credit card to get the final refund, which is still pending. So BEWARE. This inn seems to have deceptive (and illegal) advertising. I will never stay there even if my plans change.

Just spent a lovely couple of nights at this inn. The inn is old New England complete with wooden floors. Our room Kingsbury was beautiful and with a very comfy bed. Owners Amelia and Ron were very welcoming and provide nice touches like complimentary snacks alongside their bar area. Breakfast was great both mornings at the communal table.
Response from Property: Thank you for staying with us!! We hope you can visit again!

Our stay at the Waldo Emerson Inn was perfect in every way. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by the Innkeeper,Amelia. Because we were the only guests of the Inn on our first night, Amelia gave us a tour of the whole historic Inn. Each guest room is unique and beautiful. There is a full coffee and tea station upstairs in the hallway outside of the guest rooms, which we took frequent advantage of. Breakfast each morning was delicious, abundant and thoughtfully prepared. The recommendations for day trips and places to visit and eat were fantastic and the Inn is near several great antique shops and restaurants. The sitting rooms downstairs are lovely and comfortable and we enjoyed a glass of wine from the “honor bar” each night and some fun conversations with Amelia and her charming and funny husband, Rob. The bed and bedding was so comfortable. The whole place was immaculate. We can’t wait to return to the Waldo Emerson Inn!
