DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels in Kenner

I’m always surprised to read reviews that are vastly different from my personal experience. In fact, I almost chose another hotel based on a few and I’m glad I didn’t. The room was upgraded and incredibly clean (I’m very picky) – so much so that my white socks remained white despite walking around the room in them. It was quiet, the bed/pillows were incredibly comfortable and for my very short stay, I had no issues with the internet. It wasn’t super-fast, but had I needed to do more than check mail and social media, I would have paid the additional money to get an upgraded internet. I suppose I could complain they ran out of cookies and I didn’t get one. I only had one very small issue with the room. The air wasn’t working, and it was getting warm. After adjusting it several times with no results, I called the front desk. While on hold, I looked at the unit and noticed the plug was partially out of the socket (probably hit with the vacuum cleaner). I laughed, hung the phone up, plugged it in and it worked perfectly. My situation was a little different in that I checked-in, needed to return the rental car, go the airport, and take the shuttle back to the hotel. When I inquired, the front desk staff were very accommodating and friendly. They told me to call and they would ensure I was picked up but the shuttle arrived to pick someone else up just as I walked out. They also run 24/7 and the 3AM shuttle got me to the airport timely, although not entirely awake. Overall, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again. In addition to the positives above, it’s close to the airport and there are plenty of places nearby to get food and gasoline. I give them an A+ for a great place to stay near the airport.
