Govino Bay

The room are very old and smells of old pipes and sewage in the toilet, We needed to keep windows open despite been so hot outside , when we done the shower all the water was coming up in bathroom and we needed to put towels on the floor otherwise was going out of bathroom in living room When I ask to change the room they declined with escuze that they have been fully booked For breakfast you don't have to many options and I'm pretty sure my husband needed to pay for a good coffee every morning ( I'm not drinking coffee) Likely we hade friends staying at different hotel very close tu us so we went there ... Very disappointed And the see you could not approach from hotel side , you need to walk 15 mins from there They needed to update the site and the picture as is a false advertising

So pleased we picked Govino Bay, Apartments, beautiful location, lovely settings, gardens so pretty. Every view was a delight. Very very clean apartment, comfortable and functional. Pool very clean, lovely terrace area with great bar and restaurant. Staff all so welcoming. Only a short walk from Gouvia with plenty of choice for restaurants, bars and souvenirs. We were all very sad to leave. Definitely recommend.

Cannot for the life of me understand why this place has such a low review score. As far as i can establish, its a give respect and get respect situation. Absolutely every member of staff here has been kind and welcoming. They have all gone out of their way to be helpful and very kind to our 2 young children. The evening meal we had in the restaurant was fantastic, quality, service and price. I’m used to UK hospitality, i’ve worked in it for 16 years, i WISH the uk was as good as abroad but we fall utterly short. The apartment was clean and functional, not a 5 star but it doesn’t claim to be and I wouldn’t want my children in a 5 star for fear of them breaking something! We had everything we need and our cleaner was so efficient and sweet. People abroad are so much more accommodating and understanding of families. Thank you to all the staff at govino, from the reception to the security guards and especially the restaurant staff, we have had a lovely break thanks to you all

Myself and my friend stayed here from October 7th for 6 nights, it was a good experience, the place is lovely and very picturesque, the grounds are well kept and the apartments are lovely as well, Marie who worked in the restaurant was lovely and was very helpful when my friend asked her could she help with his learning of some Greek words, Voula on reception was very helpful as well and Theodore the security guard was lovely too, thank you all for making our holiday to Corfu wonderful.

Food: very bad. Buffet food was the only available option in front bar. Very little choice, slightly warm chips, breaded meat, I still don't know if it was chicken or pork ? Slightly warm spaghetti bolonesse, very bad . The tuna salad was the only nice thing available. This was every night !! Accomodation: very dated but clean . Cleaning staff fantastic and came every day with fresh towels etc. Beds are single beds pushed together. Our accommodation was one bedroom downstairs with 2 single beds pushed together, bathroom downstairs with a bath, shower hose in bath, toilet , bathroom smelt of drains eventhough window was constantly open. Living room with small kitchen area, 1 dated microwave and 2 electric plates. Ants were a problem eventhough we made sure to clean up and pur away all food. A TV with Greek channels only. Two couches which were supposed to be able to be slept on (sofa beds, but don't pull out) and were hard as nails. A loft area with two single beds pushed together. The only Air conditioning unit in the entire apartment was halfway down the stairs of loft bedroom and living room which meant loft upstairs was freezing and downstairs bedroom roasting. We tried leaving downstairs bedroom door, windows open and door to living room open to try and cool down at night but although we were slightly cooler we were bitten alive by mosquitoes even with plug in repellent. The resort is situated beside a dual carriageway which is very busy and noisy all night which makes it extremely difficult to sleep. Also be advised there is no shop on site but there is a small garage shop across the road which would cover very basic needs Nearest small supermarket type shop 20 mins walk to right of entrance. The "beach as advertised" is a small estuary, pretty but stoney and not really suited for swimming. The plus side is the pool and pool bar is lovely also the staff in reception are very friendly and helpful. The nearby village of Govina to left of resort, 15 mins walk is great for restaurants , shopping and bars. Recommend the BBQ Art restaurant l great food prices and lovely staff. Bus (Nr.7) which will take you to Corfu town is across the road from the resort and comes every 20 mns. This was my first time in Greece and I definitely will return but sadly it will not be be to stay in the Govina Bay Resort.

The accommodation is not far from the city of Corfu. It can be reached by car in a few minutes, but it can also be easily and quickly approached by a frequent bus route (number 7). It is located between the main road and the sea. There is always a lot of traffic on the main road, but the noise is not heard in the apartments. The sea is unusable in the resort area, practically unsuitable for beachcombing. The water is very shallow and murky, rather expect a swamp if you stray here. Therefore, it is full of waterfowl and mosquitoes. A mosquito repellent is a must-have item among your travel belongings. After dark, you cannot stay outside the building, on the terrace. The buildings are in good condition and attractive from the outside. The garden is cared for. The pool cannot be said to be large, especially considering the size of the resort and the lack of a direct sea beach. Next to the pool, we found quite a few sunbeds torn off, which were not taken out of use. The furnishings of the apartments are minimalistic and simple. You can see that they have already served quite a few seasons. Some furnishings are in need of repair. There is air conditioning only in the living room, so the bedroom can only be cooled with this with the door open. You can't even open the window at night because of the mosquitoes. It was not possible to control the climate, because he did not even have his own remote control in the apartment. There are two establishments in the resort area designed to serve the guests' dining needs. We didn't notice too much traffic, although their cuisine is not bad and their prices are below the Corfu average. There is no grocery store in the resort area, but several large stores can be reached within a few minutes' walk or drive. All in all, if someone doesn't want to spend their vacation locally, but wants to use the resort as a starting point for day trips and more distant beaches, I can recommend it. In terms of price/value ratio, it provides what we pay for it. But this complex will not be able to meet high expectations and demands.

Terrible location, right on a busy dual carriageway. The 2 bed apartment is small and in need of updating. The bathroom , or rather, shower room smelt awful due to drains. Each time you shower the floor becomes soaked so a slip hazard. Bar staff are ignorant and rude, totally ignored us on our first day so we left as we didn’t get served. The main road to walk to Gouvia town is treacherous and really run down. All in all not a nice place very ☹️

IN QUESTO HOTEL QUALCUNO RUBA NELLE CAMERE: Giovedì 3/08 alle 14:30, durante la pulizia delle camere, un OROLOGIO dal grande valore affettivo, due COLLANE e un BRACCIALETTO sono stati RUBATI e non abbiamo avuto alcuna collaborazione del direttore e della reception. SCONSIGLIO vivamente questo posto, andate da un’altra parte.
