A glorious setting at the edge of Grange village, 4.5 miles south of Keswick. A tranquil spot where there is little light pollution. You can hear the birds, see the sheep and new-born lambs from the dining-room window where bird feeders ensure on-going activity to enjoy. Our room was very well appointed with quality, comfortable beds, thick, fluffy towels and wonderful shower facitilies and bath. Staff kindly brought in an additional chair for me to look out over the balcony since I was recovering from cancer treatment. The decor was tasteful and homely and everything spotlessly clean. Staff at reception (Carol, Shynese and team) were very friendly, welcolming and helpful and clearly enjoyed their job. Fantastic service at breakfast and dinner from James and the team...Hazel, Anne, BJ, Peter, Derek, Arte and others. Breakfasts were ample and delicious but the creativity and taste of the courses served at Dinner by Chris and his team were outstanding. Amuse bouche, fresh bread and rolls; varied starters and main meals, dessert and coffee with little treats were delightful. One night we had an additional cheese plate and port. All the meat and fish were beautiful cooked and tender as were accompanying vegetables. The menu changes daily and £58 for three courses seemed very fair given the wonderful quality of the food and the care that had ovbiously been taken. Overall, this is well worth the money and we hope to return on many occasions. Thank you for a break that was a real tonic and lifting of spirits.
