Panvaree the Greenery

Khao Phang
My friends and I (8 of us) stayed at Panvaree the Greenery for 2 nights. We wanted to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life. If you want to cut off from the social world and just stay put to do some reading and relaxation, this is the place to be. Panvaree the Greenery is located at Khao Sok National Park or to be more specific, Chiewlarn Dam. Located in the national park, we were surrounded by mountains and water. Our accommodation floats on water and you can feel the shake when a long tail boat passes by. It rained most of the time when we were there and wasn't able to see the sunrise other than the mist. Wifi is available at the lobby but signal is very weak because of the location we are at and the bad weather made it worse. Without Wifi, we were disconnected from the world and spent most of our time taking part in water activities or reading. You could swim or go kayaking and are required to put on a life jacket whenever you play with water. During our stay, the resort provides 3 meals a day. Other than the meals (local Southern Thai food), the resort arranged our transportation from the airport to the pier and from the pier to the resort and vice versa. On the day we arrived and after check-in, we were served with lunch. In the evening, the resort arranged a cruise on Chiewlarn Dam using their longtail boat. The next morning, we were brought to see the sunrise but due to the rain, we could only go cruising in our raincoat which was provided by the resort. Throughout our stay, we were connected to the beautiful nature of the dam. It was really peaceful, quiet and got to breath on fresh air. It is just a place to get lazy and do nothing.

Baan Suan Hill Resort

Khao Phang
Quiet isolated location met expectations. The price tag seemed justified considering the amenities provided. First and foremost, the air conditioning system was functional just, adding to the aircon challenges, the lack of insulation exacerbated the heat Television enthusiasts, beware! The TV signal was virtually non-existent, rendering any hopes of entertainment futile. For those seeking a digital detox, this might be a blessing in disguise, but for most, it's a disappointing setback. Moreover, the resort's remote location proved to be a logistical challenge. Situated far from civilization, guests are left dependent on their vehicles or taxis to venture anywhere beyond the confines of the property. Be aware a bus or van from Surat Thani to Khao Sok national park does not come near the property. Double check your bookings in and out and I would not recommend any tight time schedules to the airport. However, amidst these shortcomings, one saving grace was the kindness of the staff. Despite the challenges, the staff remained courteous and accommodating, striving to mitigate the shortcomings of the establishment. The staff arranged all my transport albeit a little haphazardly. In conclusion, while the remote resort boasts a serene ambiance and amiable staff, the isolation in transport terms would require a traveler with vehicle. It is 5km from the dam and daily boat tours on the extensive lake amid magnificent karysts. Warning do not swim in the lake it's heavily polluted with sewerage.

On the weekend, I chose a place to relax in Surat Thani Province 2 days 1 night in a natural view next to the river. There are orchards around During the stay There was a little rain, giving another atmosphere. Inside the room is spacious There is an open-are bath, another type of fusion. Recommended for anyone who is nature. All the staff are lovely, speak very well, good service, most of them should be the owner or family who take care of it.

We stayed here as it was close to the lake and the dam. Great views over the valley. Our room was huge but the bed was very firm. We had a standard room so used the communal pool which was fine. There were no chairs on our small terrace although it was probably too hot too sit out but others might want too. We ate dinner in the hotel. Helpful staff and good food which was reasonably priced. There was some entertainment-a fire eater and live music. The breakfast was a bit disappointing with limited “western” choices. Staff were all friendly, the room was clean and a convenient place to stay to visit the lake.

We spend one night here before heading to the nearby CheoLan Pier. The hotel consist of 10 quite luxurious small Villas - each with Spa and Balcony with fantastic view over the mountains near Khao Sok national park. It is a very quaint and romantic place to stay . Nothing much going on . The staff was young people - with limited language English language skills. They made up for it by being very accommodating and friendly, and managed all request after some use of hand language and Google translate. The food for dinner seems to be delivered from the outside - so one has to pre order for a specific time. In conclusion - it was a wonderful luxurious stay with brilliant view - and very friendly nice staff

Friendly staff (Mai is lovely, Nut is hilarious, and the woman who does massages is fantastic!). Be sure to stay at least 2-3 nights to fully experience the lake. Accommodations are basic but clean and adequate. Absolutely beautiful setting! Highly recommend.
