High Ground Villa is a GREAT choice, in a GREAT neighborhood if you are planning to stay for any length of time in Kigali. My family and friends, eleven of us total, stayed at High Ground Villa during the month of July and August, during a two week vacation. I cannot state enough how much we enjoyed our stay here. The owner, Jean Claude, is a wonderful host and made sure that all of our needs were attended to. His staff was professional and most helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were well stocked and had reliable hot water. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL and we took many photos just at the grounds, let alone throughout the city. I anticipate visiting Kigali quite often in the future and High Ground Villa will always be at the top of my list, when looking for accommodations. Keep in mind, it is not located in the Central Business district, but in the beautiful neighborhood of Rebero. So, you will need to take a moto, rideshare, or taxi to reach the downtown. But that's only a 10-15 minute ride. I highly recommend High Ground Villa, ESPECIALLY if you are traveling as a group. It is perfect for that situation! Of course, if you are by yourself or a couple, it is great too. But I think for a group, you couldn't find a better place to stay in Kigali.

We arrived late evening in Kigali and transport to us to High Ground Villa. The staff met us, took care of luggage and the owner showed us our rooms. It was a nice set up with three big bedrooms, very comfortable and clean with a flair of Rwanda in the form of art. We left early the next morning, and before departure, the staff served us a wonderful breakfast out on the deck. Staff and owner waved goodbye as we left.

The High Ground Villa is an exceptional place to stay. The views of Kigali are stunning and the accommodations themselves are beautiful. And the owner Jean Claude is absolutely fantastic! He is incredibly helpful, accommodating and kind. You will find High Ground Villa very peaceful and relaxing, and be able to get into downtown Kigali easily. I cannot recommend High Ground Villa or JC enough!

I and my family had very memorable and great time at HighGround Villa for about a month. We had enjoyed specular view of Kigali city, niece neighborhood, and super clean rooms with enough beds and rooms for BIG family. My kids enjoyed walking and explorer new things in the neighborhood and playing football other kids. Jean Cloud, his adorable wife and kids, and staff are super kinds and very caring. They treated us with great respect and as family. Security guards were super nice and helped me not only load/unload groceries items and luggage but also keep my rental car clean every day. I also got opportunities even to meet Jean’s siblings and parents and found all are so caring and loving families. Great memorable time for entire family and definitely will come back to HIGHGROUND VILLA again for another visit and stay. LOVE IT! Keep on the great JOB.

I highly recommend this place, especially if you have a large group! We booked our wedding guests to stay at. We had 20 people, ranging in ages from 1.5 (baby) to 68 years old (family and friends from the United States). The place is very spacious, with individual apartments, so many bathrooms and several outdoor sitting areas (upstairs and downstairs patios). The views from the patios at night is incredible. Our family also enjoyed morning and evening walks around the neighborhood (there is a nice garden nearby, and lots of small shops - alimentations. The chef (made us breakfast and dinners - we ate lunch out, out and about) was a great addition. The highlight for me though, was how helpful the host was with everything, and it meant a lot to me as I was a very busy (and a little bit stressed bride-to-be). I can't thank him enough!

Our stay at High Ground Villa exceeded our expectations and Jean Claude and his staff were excellent hosts. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the views were incredible. The chef was also a great addition with great meals for our large group.
