The Commercial Hotel Kingaroy

I stayed at The Commercial Hotel in Kingaroy. The room was small but clean and affordable, which suited my needs for a short stay. The shared toilet facilities were basic .Overall, it’s a good budget option if you just need a place to rest for the night.

The room and facilities were clean. Ceiling fan only; no aircon. Wifi worked well. Good bistro. Value budget accomm for my overnight stay. Friendly staff.

This is the worst accommodation I have ever stayed at! Upon arrival their computer system was down and I had to stand and wait for 20 minutes in a corridor. No air conditioning in the rooms, brand-new TV on the wall that did not work, a window that couldn’t be opened as it opened onto a veranda, only two plug sockets on the wall with the need for four sockets so had to unplug the fridge and TV (which didn’t work anyway). Communal shared bathrooms, I thought were a thing of the past. At 11 pm when the downstairs bar was being closed, the staff were highly inconsiderate banging and lifting chairs and stools up off the floor. If I could’ve booked accommodation elsewhere, I would’ve walked out ! The staff had zero care factor

Great clean room and bathrooms are clean and modern but in this heat rooms need air conditioning.

A staff member misunderstood something I said, then proceeded to encourage a random table of 50year olds at another table to swear at me to leave. Is that a disgusting reflection on Kingaroy? Or the watermark commercial hotel?

Toilets and showers down the hallway from the room. No working air con. Portable heater sounded like jet engine. Bed was metal frame and squeaked. However the lunch was great.

The room we had was very small and the bathroom was down the hall, which is fine. But there was no breakfast. There wasn't even any tea or coffee facilities. For $130 a night, they should be including a simple breakfast eg cereal and toast, but not even having tea and coffee is not acceptable.

This was the first time I have stayed in a hotel while travelling, so I was pleasantly surprised.

It serves the purpose. My purpose very well. More than I expected.
