Hotel Kyocera is probably one of the largest hotel in Kirishima. It has two buildings ( main and annex) and looks quite good architecturally. They are connected by a bridge on the 3 floor which has the walking escalator- and a display of the various places that have been listed as world heritage sites in Japan. Inside the main building, there is a glass church which is ideal for weddings. In the basement, there is a large onsen, and spa. It is certainly a good place for having a holiday. The overall condition of the rooms are good- and the rooms are of good size. My room faces the East and has a perfect view of sunrise! Tired, crowded with grubby carpets but a great buffet and sweet staff. Some renovation has clearly taken place in this building, for example the 3rd floor dining room and the lobby. But our bedroom bathroom was not clean and the fittings were clearly very old. I do understand that the acidity from the volcanic emissions attacks metal fittings but that doesn't explain the dirt in the corners and margins of carpets, the stains on the ceilings and the dirty coverings on fans and speakers so easily replaced. The staff however were absolutely lovely, especially on reception. The hotel was extremely busy with happy multigenerational families enjoying the onsen. The breakfast and dinner buffet was first class. A fabulous variety of fresh produce served in Japanese style with some Western choices too. Generous and it kept coming throughout both sittings. We tried a private bath, old, slimy and lagged in deposits. The public onsen was better. We took a bus up the hill to the Ebino Plateau and walked among the volcanoes, and enjoyed coffee and the fabulous eco-museum. It was all gorgeous, although the path from Mount Karakunidake to Omari pond is very steep.

The room was renovated and the room was beautiful. A historic inn where Ryoma Sakamoto and famous literary masters stayed. I'm sorry I didn't take an open-air bath due to the typhoon, so I want to revenge someday. It was really comfortable with four kinds of hot springs, including sauna and water bath, all at the right temperature and hanging! I couldn't walk around the garden, but there are many exhibits in the hall, and it was good to be able to enjoy free drinks while watching the illuminated cedar forest from the lounge. It seems that there were many cancellations due to the typhoon, and there were few people and it was very comfortable. The large garden communal bath was fluttering with rain and wind. If you want to say it's too bad, I'd be happy if you had a free drink of freshly made coffee.

We arrived at the hotel at night and had already had dinner time. We have contacted the hotel before departure and hope they can arrange it. When the results arrived, the hotel staff specially arranged our dinner, which tasted good and served first-class! We booked a Canadian cabin and it feels warm and comfortable. I decided to go to Kai Kirishima and Kagoshima, expecting a view from the room overlooking Sakurajima. Without knowing the positional relationship between Kirishima Onsen and Kai Kirishima. It was 3 days and 2 nights, but fortunately we were blessed with good weather on all 3 days, and the scenery was even better than we expected. I could see the sunset, the starry sky, the haze, the sunrise, and even the movement of the volcanic plume. At first, I thought it would be a hassle to go to the hot spring with a slow car, but on the way down, the view of Sakurajima spread out below me, and I could see deer and wild boars in the nature, and the movement turned into a pleasure. The sight of the windowless indoor bath going into the dazzling open-air bath is a moving experience that makes you wonder if the gods who emerged from the rock must have felt like this. The open-air bath in the afternoon when the sun is out is recommended. I did not encounter a slope car accident like the posted article. It was comfortable with good ventilation. In addition, there is a performance of Tenson Kourin, and the road to the inn is a virgin forest with roots on the rocks. When I found the inn on the way back from the plane, I was a little surprised at how close the crater of the Kirishima mountain range was, but it was an inn with a spectacular view like no other.

We stayed for two consecutive nights as the night before and after climbing Kirishima. The reason for staying is that if you try to climb Kirishima by bus, you will have to take the first bus from Kokubun Station to Kirishima Onsen. The point was high that breakfast was available before the bus ride at 6:30. The hotel itself is behind the station opposite the ticket gate, but it is very convenient because there is a supermarket in front of you that is easy to use for shopping from the hotel. There is also an elevator on the bridge, so it will not be painful to move. Because it was used for consecutive nights, it was convenient because the clothes after the mountain climbing were washed and dryed in a free coin laundry. (Only detergent is sold separately) I rented a bicycle next to the front desk and moved to the nearby Hitoyama Onsen and soaked in the hot springs. Although this hotel has 3 floors, it is very rare as a business hotel and the rooms are provided on the 1 floor. Even more unusual was the indoor TV was a smart TV.
