"It was pretty good overall, but some rooms had an old, musty smell, probably due to their age. The deluxe Japanese-style room was especially great. "We love the special Japanese style rooms. The garden is big. But this property is a bit too cold in winter time. Owner locked one aircon in the room. Only left one aircon on, which is not enough during night time. We were suffering all the nights and early morning. I suggest owner to provide at least one mirror at the property, we couldn’t find any mirror for make-up."

"It’s a really lovely old Japanese house, but it’s really not been made over into a guest house at all. 1. There are pictures of a bath. It is not in the hotel it is just a separate public bath you have to pay for… 2. They charge for everything including “renting” towels and yukata 3. No noise blocking at all and kids are allowed. It sounds like they are in your room 4. Contactless check in doesn’t feel very safe"

"Very clean. Staff speak both English and Japanese and are very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse is within walking distance of both Nara Station about 10 minutes and Nara Park about 10 minutes but in the other direction. Would definitely recommend a stay."
