"It is a capsule hotel, so it is less private than a regular hotel, but more so than a hostel. You have a partition, so other guests can't easily see you when sleeping. Now, this is on the 14th floor, and the view is pretty good from the lounge. It's pretty easy to book, and has a decent bed, charger and tv. I didn't see AC controls in the pod, but it cooled down at night. Also, bring earmuffs and sleeping aides if you are easily bothered by other people making loud noises when you sleep."

"The room was quite clean, with daily housekeeping. There was a lively evening program with different programs. Breakfast was included, including coffee and muffins. The amenities were a bit basic, with inconveniently placed outlets and no bedside lamps. The location was great, just a stone's throw from the beach and convenient for public transportation. "This hotel is a very good place to stay if you’re not driving. You may or may not have a parking spot on their lot. Both nights we were there, we had to park on another lot. It wasn’t too far but when you walk with a cane due to bad knees, that’s not good. Our rented car was a Tesla. One of the reasons I booked there is because trip.com listed ev charger on the hotel amenities list. They DO NOT have an ev charger at this hotel. We had to go to another hotel to charge our car. We had a stressful first night worrying about where to find a fast charging station. Other than that, I do recommend this hotel. Staff was professional and helpful. Room was very nice and very clean."

"Great location. The beach in front of the hotel is not impressive. The pool is too small and too crowded. Children splashing around. That’s ok but it really needs an adults only pool."

"I was invited by a friend to stay at a different hotel, so I decided to stay here because the price was reasonable. The pets are allowed out through the wall. The sound of the club on the first floor was not so much of a problem. I was leaving early in the morning, so I could hear the people having fun. The shower wall was a little dirty, but there was no problem with the water pressure or temperature. It took me a while to figure out that you had to push it up instead of just turn it. The shower is removable, so it's easy to wash. The air conditioner can be turned off manually, so the ceiling fan was enough when I went to sleep. The front desk only speaks English, but the Japanese translation on my cell phone is fine. I'll be relieved if the deposit digital pot is properly refunded. I paid by credit card, so I wonder if it will be later? There were enough bath towels for three nights. Also, the window does not open. There is a towel rental service to go to the beach. The front desk is unmanned at 10pm, so I was given the key to the entrance, but I couldn't open it properly, so a black woman who was staying at the same hotel helped me."

"The Ritz-Carlton Waikiki, Hawaii, is classified as a five-star hotel on Ctrip. The suite is over 60 square meters and costs 6,800 yuan, excluding breakfast. In addition to its good location, the hotel's lobby facilities, decoration level, and service staff quality are only three stars of Japanese hotels. We booked a sea-facing suite, and the bed and sofa bed were surprisingly soft. We called the guest room three times on the third night, and each time a different person came to see it and said that it would be solved immediately, but they never came back. After another call, two male waiters finally came together to turn the big mattress over and turned the back up, and they felt that it was normal in hardness and softness. We continued to wait for them to solve the problem of the soft sofa bed. The two male waiters said they would come back immediately, but they were nowhere to be seen. Until a female housekeeper came to check and told her that we were still waiting for the problem to be solved, she also promised to come back but never came back. I had no choice but to call the front desk again and a male waiter came. He left for another ten minutes and came back, saying that I could put the other half of the mattress of the big bed (many double beds abroad are made of two single mattresses covered with a large mattress cover to prevent turning over and affecting each other) on the sofa bed with the hard side facing up. The restaurant breakfast was a mixture of various foods topped with some local sauce, and it always tasted the same. A breakfast order for two people plus a 20% tip was 60 or 70 US dollars; a Chinese meal in the hotel restaurant, ordering a few plates plus a tip, was 160 US dollars, and the taste was similar. I just stayed in a five-star hotel in Japan and then transferred to ANA business class to fly to Hawaii. The difference between the hotel level and service is really not a little bit. The biggest failure of this trip was choosing this so-called five-star hotel. There will be no next time."

"Very central and staff are very accommodating, the only hassle was that I had to wait until 2.30pm after arriving at 5.50am and I was very tired after travelling from Australia. Check in time was 3pm so I do appreciate the half hour earlier check in, next time I will add an extra day. The staff were also very polite from the front desk to housekeeping, a very nice place to stay at Ohia Waikiki Beach indeed."

"Since I was mainly visiting Kauai, I stayed here for three days and two nights, focusing entirely on Ala Moana. It's directly connected to Ala Moana, which is very convenient. I ate at the food court. I had a hearty dinner watching the sunset at Signature Steak & Seafood on the top floor of the hotel. You can also go to Ala Moana Beach. They also offer free water dispensers. My shower wasn't working properly, so I called and they fixed it right away. The service was excellent. The view wasn't great, but that wasn't a concern, so I was able to stay a little cheaper. It's also great that there's no resort fee. There's a Starbucks below the hotel, and it's always open! It's a hidden gem. I recommend this hotel for those who want to explore the main Ala Moana area. The staff were also very helpful."
