"The location is good, but the room is very small and quite old, and it’s very noisy at night. The main issue I’m unhappy with is that they overcharged me by $61.91. I called the hotel, and they told me to contact Trip.com, but Trip.com doesn’t make it easy to reach customer service. I guess even if I manage to get in touch, they’ll probably tell me to contact the hotel again. Being pushed back and forth like this is really frustrating."

"Private beds with curtains providing privacy. Pillow too soft and thin for me. Has shelf to put things and hooks for hanging clothes. Shower was great. Rainshower head with strong water pressure. Bathroom very clean. Pot of coffee provided in the morning. Surrounding area has many homeless, but they don't bother you so no worries."

"The location of the hotel is right in the center of San Diego, the staff is very friendly. They kept our suitcases for us on the day of checkout until the evening. The hotel has a terrace with a 270° view of downtown San Diego, you can see the sunset and the planes landing at the airport. There is a coffee maker so you can have the coffee you want. "Horton is a very old hotel with a beautiful lobby, elegant blue and white design, and a string of lights on the trees in the yard. Stairs and elevators are old and new, and they are well protected. We booked two nights with two twin rooms with fireplaces, on the second floor, two squatting rooms but the layout was different. The room facilities and services are to be spit. The leaks in the bathtubs of our two rooms have bluish spots. The water in one room sink is only hot and the hot water is very hot. The fireplace in both rooms is not easy to use. One of them is completely can not open. Some of us have a fever, call the front desk 3 times and wait an hour to get a blanket. It is worth mentioning that most of the hotels in the West are very thin, the pillows are very high, and Horton only has blankets. The service staff did not smile and was not enthusiastic, and could not match the services of other hotels in our time. Regarding parking, the hotel does not have free parking and a one-way street. Paid parking is expensive, we parked in a nearby public car park, there are many homes around, we found the cheapest is $15 a day, opposite the cvs pharmacy. Regarding dining, the hotel does not include breakfast, and the breakfast is not cheap. Starbucks is on the corner of the street. It is about 5 minutes drive from the famous cafe 21. You can eat brunch."

"Great views and comfort, but watch out for extra charges! I recently stayed at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Marina. While the hotel itself is very nice, I encountered an issue that significantly impacted my experience. Despite having booked and fully prepaid my stay through Trip.com, the hotel attempted to charge me an additional $45 per day plus tax for the so-called ”Destination Fee” at check-in. After contacting the hotel, they refunded the fee after multiple letters and two weeks. This seems to reflect a policy of charging the Destination Fee by default, regardless of whether it has already been prepaid through third-party booking platforms. I worry that many guests either don't notice the charge or aren't aware that it may already be included in their booking. That being said, breakfast at the hotel was delicious and the facilities are generally high-quality. If the billing issue hadn't occurred, my stay would have been much more enjoyable. Overall, it's a lovely hotel in a great location—but guests should carefully check their bill and be prepared to follow up if something doesn't add up!"

"We needed the hotel to reach CBX border crossing early in the morning. Perfect for this purpose. There is a good view to Mexico from the hotel."

"The room layout and location of the hotel is great for short-extended stays. Staff is friendly and the public space is cosy. However, the room is in need of some TLC. The bed was comfortable however the air condition system is very loud in the bedroom, and the bath smells like urine...The dishwasher and hob are old. Overall, still comfortable for non-picky guests."

"What a great place to stay. The staff was Excellent the cafe was great and the location to the stadium is across the street. Don't forget about the bar on the rooftop. Great place to have an adult drink and enjoy your friends company along with excellent views of San Diego. It doesn't get better than this."
