The Knaresborough Inn - the Inn Collection Group

Allocated rooms 101 & 102 outside. Had to contend with busy road traffic late into night with broken window latches in these rooms not helping with noise reduction. Room 102 also very very near to generator. A decent nights sleep was not experienced at the Knaresborough Inn. Toilet rolls requested but only received after asking for a second time.

As part of a week in Knaresborough with friends we tried this quaint pub. Overall very good and the food was of good quality. The ordering process is a little confusing but on the whole the four of us had a very enjoyable meal. We sat in a booth by the windows and it was very pleasant watching the world go by in a well decorated pub with good ambience. We had a relaxing time and would recommend. Didn't see the bedrooms but if anything like the decor of the pub would assume very well done out. Defo worth a visit

Stayed here just for one night during a short break to Knaresborough. We loved our stay here. From the moment we arrived staff were lovely and friendly. We had a double room in the new annexe at the rear of the hotel with it's own parking area. Spotlessly clean, everything we needed. Blackout lined curtains. Breakfast was included in the main hotel and was of very high standard. The hotel is beautiful, gorgeous decor and very clean. Outside is very pretty. Short easy walk into the town and river walks very close. Would most definitely stay again.

The Inn collection group acquired this hotel a couple of years ago and have spent a lot of time and money on refurbishing the venue and have done a great job! The group really seems to have a good team who specify the required standard from our previous visits to other hotels in the group that we have stayed in and this one is definitely now “ part of the fold”! We stayed for 3 nights in a very compact room but because of the decor and interior design it was not at all claustrophobic. A comfortable bed in a very pleasant room with good service and in the main friendly helpful staff. Well worth a visit.

Another fantastic Inn Collection property. They certainly know how to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. We had a lovely room which was clean and tidy. We had an included evening meal and found plenty to our liking on the menu. My pie of the day was especially tasty. Breakfast the following morning was good and well presented, but perhaps we could have had a bit more on the "continental" side of the food - more fruit, etc. Special mention to the staff - mostly young, enthusiastic and pleasant to talk to. Overall - a highly recommended hotel

Fabulous Easter weekend at Knaresborough Inn. Rooms new and stylishy furnished.Staff friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast. Would’ve been a 5 star review except there was no room service during our 3 day stay. However we love this place and will be back.

We decided to have dinner out on Easter Saturday as a family. We live locally and so decided to walk down to the Knaresborough Inn for some food. We had been in for drinks many times before and had always been great. We ordered a few starters to share and our mains. We waited a while for starters and when they arrived, we noticed that one starter only had three small, already unwrapped prawns on-which for £12 is absolutely nuts, considering the quality! The rest of the starters were decent, however we had not even finished and the mains were already arriving at the table, so the staff had no room to put plates down and was very disorganised. Furthermore, only two out of the five mains had arrived and one of them which had arrived, a chicken and pearl couscous salad, the couscous was slimy and crunchy (undercooked) and the chicken breast on the salad was unbelievably dry. At this point, still only two out of the five mains had made it to the table and we ended up having to wait around 15 minutes for the rest of the mains to arrive at the table, one of which they had got the order wrong (pie had been requested with chips-not mash). Staff were very apologetic and you could see that they were embarrassed, however this did not stop us leaving much earlier than planned-just decided to pay the bill and leave, without more drinks and dessert. When we got home, I noticed that the Inn is hiring both a new head chef and Bar supervisor, meaning that there is very little quality control or standards-very visible from our visit. In conclusion, for easier, cheaper, faster and nicer food in Knaresborough-visit Carriages on the high street or Two Brothers in the market square!

Food poor quality and overpriced. Chips appeared to be cooked in old grease leading to upset stomach. Fish overcooked. Breakfast had a good variety of cooked items but weren’t kept warm and as such were tepid at best and just not enjoyable. Service came across as a bit haphazard; some staff pleasant and amenable, another rather condescending and supercilious. Pillows in room like a rock and compromised sleep. Cleanliness was good and housekeeping helpful, efficient and friendly. £250+ for dinner, bed and breakfast experience (2 adults, 2 children - adults get £26 each tw food, children’s food paid for upon checkout) would have been a reasonable deal had the quality been good, but left with the feeling of having wasted the money for less than mediocre experience.

The service by all staff was great. We had 30 guests for a birthday gathering so staff placed us into one end of a large section of the pub. Sarah, the manager, and her staff were brilliant in sorting bookings, check-ins, dealing with any minor issues and finally sorting the billings. The food also was excellent. Staff were very relaxed in allowing us the freedom of letting us enjoy our time however we chose to. Highly recommended.
